I’m watching the Games on CTVBC, so some of you will have seen these, but most of you haven’t. Nevertheless, please post any commercials that are playing during the Olympics that you like or otherwise take note of.

Kraft Dinner. People solemnly promising to eat and enjoy their Kraft Dinner (Kraft Macaroni & Cheese), in a variety of situations. I guess athletes could use the carbohydrates, but for many people carbs and fat can be a problem. I just don’t equate mac’n’cheese with the Olympics. (I liked the nod to its cheapness though, when the college student promises to eat it because he can afford it.)

Bombarider. ‘Proud designer of the 2010 Olympic Torch’. I won’t describe it since I found a video. It’s not going to make me go out and buy a Dash-8, but I thought it was cute.

Tim Hortons. An African man is seen buying feminine women’s coats. He goes to an airport and buys two cups of Tim Hortons coffee. His wife and little daughter, dressed in light clothing, come out of baggage claim pushing a large cart. The daughter runs to her daddy and hugs him. His wife comes over to him and they kiss, and he gives her the coffee. The wife asks what’s in the boxes. The man says, ‘You’ll see.’ Outside they are dressed in the warm jackets as the snow comes down. The man says, ‘Welcome home.’ Yes, it’s a take on the scene in Cool Runnings, but the reunion is very touching. You really believe they all love each other.
