Your Favorite Commercials

As a counterpoint to Most Hated Commercials, what are some commercials that you have thought to be particularly funny, clever, memorable, or just so good you actually paused between channel surfing to watch it?

A few of my favorites:
*The Budweiser Horses playing football - particularly the one where they’re waiting for the official (a literal zebra  ) to review a play.

*A commercial for some financial investment company shows a dude, his legs up in the birthing position, being wheeled through a hospital. His ailment? He’s got money coming out the wazoo. “Unless you have this condition, you may want to consider investing with us.” Unfortunately I no longer remember the company, so that commercial probably isn’t as affective as they hoped for.

*The Captain Jack (?) rum commercial where the dudes order a pizza in a store…for delivery. Turns out they were too drunk to drive, so they get around this problem in a rather creative manner.

The McDonald’s commercial with the hip-hop kid doing the electric slide with his chicken nugget happy meal at the dinner table.

I’m always amused when a commercial is listed in both the most hated and most loved threads. :stuck_out_tongue: (And it’s not the electric slide, it’s some other “do a crappy dance as I say the moves to the dance in the song” song and dance.)

They’re not showing it anymore, but I fell on the floor laughing when I first saw this one. As the mother of a teenaged girl I could completely relate. My daughter got a kick out of it too, and we used to recite the lines to each other.

Who are you calling a cootie queen, you lint-licker?

Whoever’s got the vibrating chairs in the conference room…

“Ooo ooo ooo ooo ooo”
“Err rrr rrr rrr rrr”
“Eee eee eee eee eee”

These two new ones for Carling. Shameless, but great.

The coors lite commercials often amuse me. The ones with the after-game interviews. Some are better than others, but I don’t hate them as much as most commercials.

For me, those ads qualify as having been OK at one time, but now they’ve beaten the idea to death, and are in the process of digging up its grave so they can beat it some more. Enough already!

I love the Burger King video with the chicken that has ‘too much kick’.

“But they were mini-burgers!”

Ahah! another opportunity to bring out this old UK cinema advert for Silk Cut Cigarettes .
That link is for full screen, use this one if you prefer small size.

I used to like them more before I heard that the coaches that are used are not compensated for the footage in which they appear! The film is the property of NFL Films so they can use it as they see fit. Evidently they thought it would be funny to let Coors Light make money off of former NFL coaches. :dubious: The best one is the mini burgers one, though.

The one I like lately is for Subway where the accountant who asks the guy walking by his office for a receipt from “Burger Town”. The guy goes, “Can I just photocopy my butt?” and the accountant says, well turn around…“Yeah, that’ll work”. It cracks me up for unknown reasons.

The Irn Bru snowman

Yeah, why do we have all these people driving around all the time? Pizza delivery drivers could taxi people around. Or taxi drivers could deliver pizzas. So could cops, while nothing is going on deliver a few pizzas and pick up some extra bucks. Or have people pay for taxi rides in a police car.

You forgot the part where the accountant sees the guy’s butt and says under his breath in disbelief, “Hootchie MAma.” I like the commercial, too.

I hate commercials on violently principle, but I enjoyed some of the original “Got milk?” ads - the “Aaron Burr” one, and a later one where a man finds himself in a bright white room full of delicious-looking cookies. But he checks the fridge and sees nothing but empty milk cartons, and shrieks “Where am I?”
Cut to black, and the words “Got milk?” appear, outlined in flames. I laughed pretty hard.

And one or two of Peyton Manning’s American Express ads were good. For a couple of months, my youngest brother and I would chant “D-Caf” or “Cut that meat” during football games.

Aw, jeez. Thanks to my low-wattage brain’s cross-connection, now I’ve got the Hillshire Farms “Go Meat!” chant stuck in my head.

I saw one a couple of weeks ago that had me laughing. It was one of those that shows an object floating and revolving as the narrator describes it’s high-techness. Pretty normal until he says something like “the most advanced system you’ll ever pee on.” At which point the somewhat cylindrical object is sprayed upon and turns to reveal “not pregnant.”

Found it on youtube. Here.
