OMG New Shoes!!

Cute! I’m glad you broke out of the color mold–

well, my plan failed. I was going to show you all the other colors boots come in and now I am sorely tempted by all the choices in this classic boot:

I think a boot-cut jean in a dark wash would like nice with yours.

Yay!!! I got an email from Zappos saying they now have the gasoline spill clogs in my size! gigi did you get yours yet? Do you like them?

Yes, I got them in time for my birthday! I like them a lot! They’re cute. I don’t wear socks, so I know I couldn’t walk around in them all day without some sort of protection on spots I know get irritable, like my little toes which turn out. Moleskin or first aid tape would be fine for protection though, unless you wear socks with them in which case you’d be fine.

gigi, did I tell you that you turned me on to Swanx and I got the most beautiful pair covered in sunflowers? They are fabulous! I love them to death.

green bean have you tried Sanitas, or Dansko’s lately? Apparently the two companies are now split, according to Swanx. If you bought and loved Dansko in the past, it’s now Sanita. Dankso is something else, apparently.

My confession: I have a serious cowboy boot addiction. Look at these babies I got this summer. They are the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen. Me, my buddy and my Old Gringos.

gigi, I’m a sock person so I should be fine. Gotta get that credit card out now! Ellen, love the boots! I want!

Very cool! I haven’t broken down and gotten any there yet, mostly because there’s no way I can pick just one!

I’ve had my eye on those Dansko Tori heels for 6 months now. Just haven’t quite pulled the trigger yet, but I think I’m going to go for it. Zappos is so easy with returns and such.

And gigi, thanks for the Clog Heaven link. Looks like I’m spending the next few hours heating up my Discover card.

I am a shoe slut.

The daisy ones were no longer available. :frowning: OTOH, I got an email about Haflinger clogs at Simply Birkenstock.

You cloggie girls might enjoy Softwalk. I’m wearing these today, in black. They’re terrifically comfortable and pretty darn cute with a long skirt.

These could convince me to take up hiking!

Couple of things.

  1. auRa rocks my socks for introducing me to these shoes.

  2. Here’s the “but” part. The shoes are wonderful looking, but are not as comfortable as I was expecting. There was a lot of talk of memory foam, and the impossibility of heel that high being so comfortable, but I was not wowed by the comfort. I rank it up there with any other heel that doesn’t hurt my feet.

  3. I’m still pleased overall, and am I’m wearing them next Saturday.

I was at Marti and Liz Shoes (a local remainder shoe store) today and they had those Danskos (including the gasoline spilled ones) for $36.99. They have incredible deals - I got a pair of Merrells today for $24.99 and almost bought some Rockports for the same price, but the tongue felt like it came up too high.

For our anniversary Mrs. Tibbytoes and I agreed to get each other a pair of shoes that expressed how we felt about each other. Realizing that getting my better half a pair that looked as good as they made her feel should convey the message that I cared about her health and welfare as much as her looks, I got her these. Imagine my surprise when I opened my box containing these. (I still don’t know what message she was trying to convey ).

Have you seen these at Target? OMG- they are just like Frye boots at a fraction of the cost. If they don’t sell out I’m going to have to get a pair. They’re out of stock online, though, so I’m not getting my hopes up.

You like those? Get a load of these. I complimented my friend on these boots last week, and I was a little surprised when she said they were from Target. Apparently they’re getting their act together over there. Super cute boots for under $50 even make mean old ladies happy.

MeanOldLady, those are also amazing. Have you ever been to Opitz in St Louis Park? Sometimes they sell shoes that are different size by a half size for $10 or $15, as well as their regular selection of 70-90% off designer shoes (I’m talking Jimmy Choo, Michael Kors, Coach, etc).

I got a pair of beeeoootiful leather boots for $15, and a couple years ago I got a pair of Fendi sneakers for $5. Their website is crap, but it’ll give you an idea of where it is at least. I cannot recommend it enough.

You’ve done a horrible (or wonderful?) thing by introducing me to this, and I’m probably going to go shopping within the next half hour. I claim not to be a girly girl, but here I am geeking out over shoes and clothing on sale. Well, I do drink my whisk(e)y neat. Always.

Dude, you will love Opitz. Just be careful and inspect everything- it’s scratch and dent type stuff. But it’s the most incredible place for shopping in the Twin Cities. My friend got a perfect Diane Von Furstenburg wrap dress for $100. It’s so awesome. Let me know if you go and find anything good- I love to hear about an excellent find!

I am resurrecting this zombie thread because after two and a half months of being on back order in my size, my gasoline spill Danskos have arrived! They’re fabulosa!!
