Hah! I beat Elon.
I had a vasectomy years ago and now I’m on government assistance (social security). There’s nothing he can do. Bwah hah hah!
He can destroy social security. And is working on it.
Yes of course. I was being facetious. There’s a hell of a lot more he can do to destroy the USA so he can own it.
I saw on NBC that seven teens were wounded in southeast Chicago by a drive by shooter as breaking news. They said the police began a manhunt to find the suspects. No one was killed but there are still some bad guys involved.
I had a choice of where to put this, but since it includes murder, I went with this thread. It’s a wild one. (You may need to register for free to read the entire article on Military.com.)
The police investigated her allegation of rape and…
Her victim’s parents decided to go vigilante.
The vigilante’s victim, of course, was not their intended target.
If that was a movie plot, people would call it far-fetched.
Off-topic but when you say Vet in Australia, it’s an animal doctor, not an ex-soldier.
Back to the thread…
In the US, it can be either one.
Usually we’ll say “Army vet” or something along those lines to differentiate. Or it depends on context; if you say, “I took my dog to the vet,” people aren’t going to assume you took your dog to a former military person. Or if you say, “The country is doing a terrible job of taking care of vets,” people won’t assume that doctors of veterinary medicine are in need.
If it’s really ambiguous, folks will just ask for clarification (or should).
What if I’m a former military animal doctor?
TIL that the US Army has a Veterinary Corps.
U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence - Veterinary Corps Opportunities
That’s a career path that’s bound to cause confusion.
So if you want to check the background of one of these guys, do you vet a vet vet?
If I acquired a dog that had been invalided out due to PTSD from its time in a war zone, I certainly would.
Sure, and if they had a lot of experience as a military animal doctor, you’d vet a vet vet vet.
I would certainly vet a vet vet vet.
You need to call Eddie Vetter.
Nyet, not yet vet the vet vet.
Doesn’t he own a 'Vette?
