I mean, they’d kind of have to. The Army does have service animals. Nowadays, I imagine that’s mostly guard dogs, but I think there are still some ceremonial cavalry, too, and of course, there used to be real cavalry.
Of course! It makes perfect sense. I even remember the Marines having trained dogs at the Navy base I used to work at many years ago.
I just never gave it much thought before.
In addition to animal care, the vets in at least USAF had some role in food safety.

Not something most people want to think about, but the military does use some animals for various testing purposes as well as what has already been listed.
The use of camels had been widely discouraged as service animals given that most were found to be allergic to condoms.
