Omnibus Evil MFers in the news thread

I just came here to post this. From the article:

And the only thing they said was, ‘You don’t F with ICE. We are here,’ and they threw me on the floor

And these thugs, they go home, suck down a sixpack, and say, “Man I kicked some ass today! Woo me!”

‘And he almost hit me with his wheelchair!’

Actually, to me they smack more of the Sturmabteilung (SA, or Brownshirts). While the SS were absolutely vile, they did have standards for joining; the only criterion for the SA was an eagerness to beat people up for the Führer.

Not if you could be prosecuted for assault, which is what the article is calling for. You will have exponentially more addicts infesting your property, and thousands of them will die because no one will be willing to risk charges administering naloxone, all because of an idiotic report about something that didn’t happen from a journalist who doesn’t understand that drug addicts always lie.

Angry Narcanned Subjects are a well-known phenomenon in the literature. The way to deal with them involves more legal protections for people trying to save their lives, not fewer. Or we can have quantifiably more deaths for drug users and quantifiably worse quality of life for everyone else in order to “solve” a made-up threat to the made-up “right” to get high and pass out on the street. I wonder which one San Francisco will choose.

So, the addict posted the video of himself threatening another addict with Narcan?
That’s what you’re going with?

You do realize that there is a non-trivial percentage of the US who view death for drug-users a positive outcome, yes?

And another slice of the population who don’t have any problem with urban problems worsening because they can use it as an excuse to grab power.

(Note: that is not MY belief. I believe very strongly in treatment rather than discarding people.)

Maybe for you, not for me.

If a life needs to be saved, the tools are there and I am confident I can use them I am going to use them. I do not give a flying fuck about some societal consequences real or IMAGINED. I don’t eve care if it is illegal. The right thing to do is the right thing to.

Jesus fucking Christ.

In the video there is no life needing, immediate, saving. There is someone using the threat of Narcan the same way he’d use a firehose to chase vermin off his precious street.
Our lovely ZosterSandstorm wants more legal protections for the folks doing that under the obvious pretense that they’re ‘’‘saving addict’s lives’‘’.

^This^

Right up until the end of June, 1934 – a year or so after Hitler became chancellor – and they were eliminated in the Röhm Purge, after being deemed no longer useful.

Someone really needs to publish a “Know Your Nazis” booklet covering 1930s German history and include a bingo card with parallels to today’s news.

Perhaps this is only a jest, but something like that is truly needed. Godwinizing and such is a thing, and people have been calling each other Nazis and Fascists for years, whether in earnest or as hyperbole.

In 2025 it is not hyperbole. I think there is a need for such a tool to bring it home to those still may be walked out of their support of this tragedy.

As long as you realize that filling out that bingo card would bring joy to far too many people.

I pretty well meant it but there’s that, yes. I’ve kinda studied the time and do get confused among the SA, SD, and SS – too many Ss. I looked up the link to the purge to make sure I had the event and its timing correct.

They truly were a nasty bunch of fellows with the goal of acquiring and keeping power above all else. Unfortunately today’s bunch aren’t introspective enough to realize this.

Introspection. That is one of them liberal concepts, ain’t it?

Comes from too much soy milk.

That’s a feature not a bug from their POV.

Yeah, I said before that if they ever found that guy, it would be to find his body.

Mentally ill, homeless, and in the middle of the wilderness, finding him at all was iffy. His chances of being able to evade a manhunt and disappear safely was practically zilch.

This one just weird. Did he just want to play a prank? Hurt people? Cause a weird mystery? Why the stink, specifically?

Sounds like a dumb prank for April Fools Day - put an aerosol can in the bathroom. Too bad he went DEFCON 1.
