I didn’t want to see it, but I saw it. The article is paywalled but I think the lede is in the title. Anyway, here it is. My only question is… where do we go from here?

Yeah, there are two big problems with this. One is the pointing an actual gun at lots of people (“unloaded” or no), which is dangerous for obvious reasons. The other is exhorting a “violent action of faith” to “clear a room in faith” because “the enemy in hiding is working to keep you in a spirit of unbelief”, which is dangerous for many other reasons.

I suppose it’d have been funny ironic if one of the many secretly armed parishioners thought it was a real attack and heroically opened fire on the hapless preacher to “neutralize the threat.”

In all seriousness, people who carry, carry everywhere. Further, attacks on churches have been in the news since forever, such that it’s not inconceivable that your happy gathering is viewed by some armed nutbag as a target to be attacked.
Looking at the map of the county containing that church, it’s a virtual certainty there are many gun owners in the crowd. The preacher’s actions certainly suggest he expected his rifle-toting antics would be well-received by his audience.
I did not read in detail to see if the number of churchgoers was mentioned, but decent bet if it was over ~50, somebody in the audience was carrying a concealed pistol, whether legally or otherwise.

The guy has a stroke and drives into oncoming traffic. Cops pull him over and assume he’s drunk or on drugs. He dies in jail when his symptoms were ignored.
The officers noted that he did not smell of alcohol and found nothing in his car to indicate drug or alcohol use.
Except for the Black guy? 
While transporting him, the responding officer was recorded on body camera video saying, “Is this dude having a stro–.” (The lawsuit says the word “stroke” was cut off because the officer muted his camera.)
This is some bullshit. I expect that the county and/or city are going to have to spend some big money, and some folks are getting fired. Or they certainly should be. Holy shit.
