Vandalism is not a “prank”. And I suspect that vandalism of police property, specifically, is especially not a “prank”.

Absent details, it’s a little hard to tell. “Drones” can be anything from tiny toys to big weapons-carrying structures. The former are merely annoying; the latter, dangerous.
But I see the FBI are claiming they were to be “explosive drones” to disrupt the UFC event. Which, assuming they’re not lying again, would have been very bad.
Competitive disc golfers are constantly playing a round.

OK, I was clearly cross-posting… There was a post in another one of the omnibus threads (probably the stupid one) about some idiot shooting down a police drone, and I thought that’s what I was talking about. Yeah, flying drones over Trump’s UFC event does make sense as either a prank or as an attack.
Which, these days is a very large assumption. With this administration it’s not even “Trust but verify” but rather “Show me the evidence.”
Having said that, even paint-bombing drones would be bad.
I think the most likely prank scenario (in fact, the most likely scenario total) was that they were just toy drones carrying nothing but a camera. It could have been someone just wanting to make the Secret Service overreact, or it could have been someone just trying to get a bird’s-eye view of the fight.
Even that, though, will and should get the perpetrators into some pretty deep trouble. When the Secret Service says “don’t fly drones here”, don’t fly drones there.
And if you want to do something highly illegal, don’t brag about it. Don’t invite undercover FBI to your planning meeting. And don’t live stream it on your actual name social media account!
Still, it might have been cool to see dogfighting over the WH between protester drones and trump’s super sekret (“that’s why I posted pictures” -DJT) Drone Force. With lasers. Pewpewpew!

To clarify, they’re using laser rangefinders to figure out where to put outfielders.
I thought the story was going to be cooler than that. 
This never would’ve happened if the White House had a ballroom!
You know, I have one simple request, and that is to have outfielders with frickin’ laser beams attached to their heads!
Then instead of catching a fly ball, they blast it to smithereens.
Hmm, I wonder how they’d apply Rule 3.01 in that case:
Rule 3.01 Comment: Should a ball come partially apart in a game, it is in play until the play is completed.
What happens if you only catch a fragment of the ball? Is the batter half-out?
