Any “religious” person with more than $1M in jewelry is not religious. I don’t recall Jesus asking to collect bling.
Jesus said as much. Mathew 6:19-21:
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:[20] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: [21] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Somewhere between one and none, praise jeebus!
Dan
Give 'em time.
I’m thinking 15 to 20, served consecutively.
Kung Fu pastor
The arrest affidavit stated that the 42-year-old [pastor] admitted to sexually abusing the two victims during a recorded phone call that he had with them. The call was recorded by police. The affidavit also stated that Douge abused his victims in the church as well as his dojo.
And this:
In addition, the woman says Mystikal threw rubbing alcohol on her before calling for a few “Hail Marys.” She eventually escaped and was treated at the Baton Rouge General Hospital for injuries.
Why would you say that? Unless you’re conflating “being religious” with “being a Christian.”
Yes, I think you can assume I meant Christianity with me throwing in Jesus. I know there are other religions, but not many others take advice from Jesus.
Yeah, I have a hard time not judging people like that “Christian” pastor reprimanding his congregation, saying they don’t love him because they didn’t buy him an incredibly expensive watch (video made the rounds here as well as Reddit).
I’m just as baffled by conspiculously-consuming Buddhists. I’m assuming both Jesus and Buddha are rolling their eyes and simultaneously crying at the greed of their followers.
Allah and Yahweh are right there with them.
At his sentencing hearing, Sniff said in a statement, “Many times in my life, I showed people the person I aspired to be, but in reality I wasn’t. I also lied and manipulated people to get what I wanted.”
A common trait amongst his people.
The church protects the abusers, not the abused.
This bit would be funny if it wasn’t so horrifying:
A grand jury indicted Gregory Renee Adams, 64, [on five counts of rape], two counts of sodomy and two counts of sexual abuse by force, according to court documents. Two of the charges involved victims who were between the ages of 12 and 16, according to the indictment. Jail records show that Adams was arrested Tuesday.
At this point, I’m all for the Commander-In-Chief ordering the immediate transfer of the entire command structure at the Air Force Academy. Send them to Diego Garcia. Or Thule AFB. Courts-martial need to be convened on the lot of them.
I thought this was just going to be a case of thoughtless scheduling but nope - according to the cadet’s parents:
Doesn’t sound very enlightened…
It’s a floor wax and a dessert topping.
Command gave not one thought to any non-Christian religious observance, and the senior cadet is a classic evangelical ass.
If he were a non-ass (evangelical or otherwise), he would have said something like “look, it’s bad scheduling but we can’t do anything about that at this point. If I were you I’d do the challenge because of its affect on your standing in the Academy, but you’ll have to make the choice.” And not mention Christianity at all.
And pass up the chance to convert a heathen? Are you mad? Supply Side Jesus would be very unhappy with you.
Plot Twist: Turns out christians and jews are both wrong.
