Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

The right is absolutely filled with special snowflakes that need to retreat to their safe spaces lest they catch a bad case of the vapours. And their children are so fragile that we must remove all books, except the Bible, King James Version only, from the library and then fill it’s empty shell with bubble wrap to ensure they don’t hurt themselves.

Can these same rules – that you can’t mention “gay” or “black” (or “Jew”?) because it might hurt somebody’s feelings – be used to protect against bullying?

If Kid A calls Kid B a “faggot”, can we then whip Kid A’s ass for it? Similarly for any other kind of bigoted bullying or name-calling?

Obviously, because

those people do not exist. We cannot be having talk like that, because that might cause them to exist.

Well, that was pretty scary.

I hope someone pushed her out an airlock.

Can be? Yes.
Will be? I doubt it.

Depends? If they have a vigilante bounty-hunter system, like Youngkin is trying to set up, then what? If any little kid comes home crying “Mommy, somebody called me a Jew-boy”, can Mommy sue the school and collect an automatic $10000 bounty?

Never used Spotify, not going to start. They chose to drop Neil Young’s catalog after he told them there was not enough room for both him and Joe Rogan’s bullshit.

To be fair, I’m not sure what could possibly contain that much bullshit without bursting immediately from the strain.

Trump’s jacket.

I suddenly have this image in my head of Trump taking the place of the comically obese restaurant customer in the infamous Monty Python sketch. Only instead of eating he’s lying constantly until he bursts. Not sure if I should be delighted or disgusted.

“The investigation determined that the two suspects had become involved in a verbal dispute with an employee after receiving an incorrect order through the drive-thru,” said the police department. “Suspect One allegedly threw a water bottle through the window, before parking the vehicle and entering the business. Suspect One continued the dispute with the employee before the two suspects began physically assaulting and striking the employee.”

The suspects who were arrested, a man and a woman, are both in their mid-20s.

The woman, a D.C. resident whose first name is Justice, is charged with Malicious Wounding and Eluding Police.

The man, a resident of Capitol Heights, Maryland, is charged with Assault and Battery and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

I see working at McDonalds is just as delightful as it ever was. Throw the book at those fuckers.

Whoever threw the bottle should be charged with assault with a waterarm.

Wow. After googling what Malicious Wounding is, it’s a heavier charge than plain ol’ Assault and Battery.

  • Cut, shoot, stab, wound, or otherwise cause physical injury to a victim in a malicious way; and
  • Intend to disable, disfigure, maim, or kill the victim.

Any perpetrator who commits this offense will likely face felony charges and can spend a significant amount of time in prison.

I wonder if she’s going to be able to get DoorDash to deliver her MickeyD in prison.

Tragic, but I think this qualifies for this thread too:

I blame those truck and SUV commercials that have the vehicles driving right up to the edge of a cliff and stopping just in time. They tend to normalize being that close to a cliff, so susceptible people lose their natural and useful feeling of caution.

It’s not the TV commercials (young people don’t watch commercial TV anyway, yah?), it’s the TikTok, Instagram world where one does photogenic stunts for the followers and likes.

Video purported to be the assault has surfaced (hidden due to NSFW language).

Then there are those Superman movies that normalize flying.

Notice they do not fly so much as plummet.
