Looks like a bit more is emerging about the two brothers who tried to rob a bank then shot at police before being killed. Yes, they were quote normal but shy in high school, unquote, but then dropped off the radar, ghosting their former friends and getting more into camo gear and high powered weaponry.
And, they were full of the usual right-wing bullshit about hating Trudeau, antivax garbage, etc. Someone was filling their heads with this crap over the past couple of years.
Ironically, they were angry about proposed new gun regulations in Canada, and will end up being the poster children for WHY we need the new gun regulations in Canada; To prevent radicalized right wing terrorists like them from getting military grade weapons.
I was thinking this too. Mind you, as far as I can tell from their social media posts (I am certainly no expert) their weapons were already illegal. Or at least they were using magazines that held more bullets than legal.
I think what he means is that an education that teaches children about reality and broadens their minds will turn them away from the superstition and bigotry that he wants them to inherit.
… oh, by the way, the previous President was involved in a bit of a scandal by having an affair for years with his son’s wife … oh, and she was found probably-murdered-but-they-called-a-suicide-then-buried-the-evidence.
CIte:
I knew most of the players in that debacle, as neighbors and classmates. Such a wholesome school …
In context, they are pushing the idea that educators are indoctrinating children with bad political ideas, which they will then spread to others. In that sense, calling it a “plague” is understandable.
You have to buy into that conspiracy first, though.
Not sure why that makes him stupid or a MFer. He is clearly being rhetorical – he believes that under the circumstances of Assange being convicted and jailed, the US will lose it’s right to be represented by such a symbol, and he is not alone in that view. He is not proposing to tear it down himself.
“Lovely statue, but then some idealistic Johnny had to carve that bit about give me your huddled masses. Well, the huddled masses leapt at the chance…”
