Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

He’s such a bad person.

Holding the thought.

Flabbergastingly, the Fox news website seems to have let some unflatteringly factual reporting on this situation slip through its filters.

It’s been quite a while since I monitored news sources on a semi-professional basis, but back when I did, I thought the Fox News channel was basically unusable as a source, but Fox News online was actually pretty good. There was a definite rightward tilt to what they covered, but I thought they were generally just as good on the actual facts as CNN and other major news sources. I don’t know how true that is nowadays, though.

How about CNN Celebrates Chavin Verdict ? wtelf is that? A story about CNN’s reaction to the verdict? Entirely and nothing but a report on what CNN had to say. Why?

You think they would pass up a chance to lie and obfuscate?

I’m actually not seeing what’s wrong with “celebrating” a verdict that one thinks is just. There are tons of news-headline references to some people or other “celebrating” some verdict or other in some controversial case.

I guess CNN can now run with

“Fox News Hosts Sad, Childish and Whiney about Chavin Verdict”

Nitpick for you and eschereal: Chauvin, as in chauvinism

Natural typecasting at work!

Republican candidate announces her idiocy and racism.

To be fair, if we never prosecuted anyone for crimes we would have a lawless society, so it’s true that convicting murderers (especially a cop like Chauvin) prevents civil unrest.

Some folks appear to think that putting up with some civil unrest in response to injustice is just the price we have to pay for maintaining the policy that cops who kill black people in any circumstances whatsoever must be allowed to get away with it.

A lot of conservatives right now seem absolutely fuuuuuuuurious that that policy has been challenged.

Pushing back against racism and keeping order seems like a win-win for anyone halfway decent and mostly sane.

I wonder if the diagnosis made his shit his pants.

In Chicagoland, the Salons were closed. Now that they are open, the beauticians wear masks, and any waiting clients wear masks. People getting mani/pedicures wear masks. However, the people whose hair is being worked on do not because it’s obviously not a workable situation.

Last week I got my hair cut for the first time in a year. We all wore masks. The stylist was able to work around it just fine.

Same here. The barber was wearing a mask, and managed to cut my hair without me having to take my mask off.

The customer before me was not wearing a mask while he was getting his hair cut. I didn’t notice if he put one on afterwards.

My barber puts tape on either side of my mask so that it stays in place, then takes the mask loops off my ears to cut my hair without the loops getting in the way.

My last haircut, the stylist pulled the mask away from my ears and I held it in place while she cut around my ears, and then I put it back on. nbd.
