Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 1)

Remember that they can accept grift from right-wing multimillionaires and seemingly get away with it.

Eat the rich. That will solve that particular problem toot sweet.

Too much cholesterol. Rendering for fuel might be an option, though.

Good movie, though.

Too much fatty cholesterol. Better to burn them for fuel.

‘[Q]ueer that Alphas and Betas won’t make any more plants grow than those nasty little Gammas and Deltas and epsilons down there.’

It is a matter of volume. There are not a many αs and βs as there ars γs, δs and εs. You cannot get as much fertilizer out of a smaller bunch.

And the lesson learned from that is where the roadblocks are, so that they can remove them next time.

And the march of lemmings following bad online advice continues: Don’t drink or bathe in borax!

They can’t. They literally can’t.

Now, they can chip away at them. And that’s bad enough. That’s more than enough that they need to be stopped. Defeated at the polls or in some cases even jailed, depending on what they’ve done.

But they can’t remove the roadblocks. Not all of them. Not even most of them. There are too many. It would take generations.

That’s not to say that we shouldn’t care, of course we should. But talking about hyperbolic bullshit isn’t useful. We don’t need to lie to talk about how bad things are and can be. The truth is bad enough.

Please provide evidence of learning.

The stupid MFer is the news in this one, or at least the headline writer, and the editor who didn’t catch this:
# ‘Catastrophic’ reactor failure ignites large blaze at Pittsburgh power substation, officials say

Turns out the “reactor” is “a specialized transformer” according to the Duquesne spokesperson.

Now, maybe the spokesbot did use the word “reactor”, although you’d hope someone in [checks] her line of work would know better. But how many of you, reading that headline, would have immediately thought “Nuclear reactor catastrophically failed!!!” I ask?

My first thought was “Why would a sub-station have a reactor?”

^ Likewise. Although if every substation had its very ownliest nuclear reactor, it would cut down on problems/vulnerabilities with the long-distance power grid.

Still, agreed that the headline needed some serious fact-checking.

Same reason God needs a starship.

Because the substation is an evil entity that wants to escape the center of the galaxy?

Wow - learn something new every day.

Substation was fed up with kowtowing to these guys

Indeed, why a substation? But my knee-jerk reaction got as far as “catastrophic reactor failure” and blew up. Didn’t even realize it was just a substation till I read the article.

As Julia Child should have taught you, fat = flavor. I don’t care what all of you fanatical anti-Trump naysayers bray on about. I contend Donald would be delicious pit-smoked .
