Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 2)

A portion of the Olympic opening ceremonies, which depicted a festival for the Greek god Dionysus, but which some Christians interpreted as mocking the Last Supper:

The Olympic thing. (linked to in my quote).

Specifically, by the time this guy showed up:

Imgur

… and one is still mad about what “they” did to “Christianity”, I would suggest that one’s knowledge of Christianity ain’t shit.

How dare those ancient Greeks steal from the Bible and coopt the imagery of the Last Supper! Shame!

Also, where is the trident that @JohnT was referencing? The trident would likely be a symbol of Poseidon, totally different god (and the uncle of Dionysus). There are other sea gods that it could represent, like Proteus or Triton, but Poseidon is the big one. But again, I don’t see the trident anywhere in any imagery.

Unless maybe Dionysus was chewing Trident gum or something.

Eh, I thought I saw a trident in another photo.

Maybe it was the spiky hat behind that one lady causing confusion.

That thing could put out someone’s eye!

Is Ballard the same idiot who kept referring to Czech swimmers as “from Chechnya”.

The 21-year-old spoiled rich brat who has spent much of the last year terrorizing downtown Seattle by driving a customized super-loud Dodge Charger late at night and at dangerously high speeds so he could post videos of it to Instagram, accruing $83,000 in fines in the process, has finally been taken into custody, banned from using social media, and is prohibited from driving his car on any public road in the state of Washington.

He did give the standard “IF anyone was offended…” non-apology.

Banned from using the accounts where he posted the videos, as far as the article says. I hope that’s bad reporting, and that he is banned from posting anything anywhere (although that probably wouldn’t fly as a restriction).

I didn’t watch the swimming, and not to defend the guy, but are you sure he said Chechnya and not Czechia, the officially recognized short form of Czech Republic?

I’m pretty sure he said Chechnya and that’s what the closed captions said.

Out of curiosity, how do you know this shithead is rich?

I’ve been following the story for months. His mother pays the rent for his ritzy condo in Belltown and is also the titled owner of his Hellcat, and he doesn’t appear to have a job other than posting videos of himself acting like a prick on Instagram and harassing/stalking/posting revenge porn of his ex-girlfriend (for which he’s also facing charges).

It’s a classic case of affluenza.

At least they got to him before he killed a bunch of people, like that asshole in Fairwood.

With as long as it took them, that’s luck more than anything. He was zipping around downtown Seattle at 3 AM doing 90 in 25 zones for close to a year before the court ordered him to stop. The Seattle subreddit was about ready to break out the torches and pitchforks.

Wonder what “necessary parts” this guy is supposedly getting to bring his car into compliance with noise restrictions. Assuming it’s the Dodge Challenger Hellcat we’re talking about, it’s apparently designed for maximal obnoxiousness from an auditory standpoint. According to Car and Driver:

As is the case with high-powered motorcycles, blasting the eardrums of the petty bourgeois is an essential element of their appeal.

Presenting 42-year-old Ronnie Stout:

I can buy the notion that the initial grass fire was an accident but how did your mama’s car get 60 feet down an embankment without help?

AIUI, in Washington, 2 times the limit is a felony, so his behavior, if there is proof, is clearly felonious.

Here’s a “win-win” in a road rage incident [both of them succeeded in killing the other guy].

Deadly shootout in Southern California erupts with 2 young children in car

Who writes these damn headlines? That sounds like a stupid MFer. Whoever wrote this implies that 2 young children engaged in a deadly shootout in a car in Southern California.
