Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 2)

They’ll rememeber this day for the rest of their lives.

As will the groomsman.

I’m not sure if that’s a step up or a step down from this. (The link goes to Yahoo! Finance.)

The ultimate step down is this.

Fyre Fest 2 now has a date scheduled.

In August 2023, the first drop of 100 presale tickets for Fyre Fest II (at $499 apiece) sold out within a day, even though its website at the time offered no lineup, no specific location and no details about accommodations.

How does the saying go? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me?

Well there is the pizzeria’s basement. Weird things go on down there, I hear.

This quote from the story caught my eye:

“I’ve never seen anything quite like this,” David Leyton, the Genesee county prosecutor, said to CBS News. “I’ve seen people running over other people but not so soon after a wedding.”

Which begs the question, so how long after a wedding is it acceptable to see people being run over?

Hhhhmmmm, ms manners doesn’t seem to address that…

Fool me, we won’t get fooled again.

Twenty times burned-Twice shy.

Here is a story about two jackasses in the National Guard. (The link goes to Military.com.)

2 Virginia Guardsmen Are Running a Rural Anti-Government Militia

Two Virginians run a local county-approved militia, one that has made overt threats against the government. They also both happen to be top-performing noncommissioned officers in the Virginia Army National Guard, serving the very government one of them has repeatedly warned is drifting toward tyranny.

And what does the county government think of having an anti-government militia there? Evidently the local government just loves it. (This is a link to a March 2020 article on the local ABC affiliate’s website.)

Campbell County is already a Second Amendment Sanctuary but they have taken another step to show their opposition to stricter gun laws.

The Campbell County Board of Supervisors voted six to one to recognize the county’s newly formed militia at their meeting Tuesday night.

It is both worse and sooner than we think.

Ha, that sounds like my dating efforts until I was about 25 years old and finally figured out what red flags were.

That’s about when I heard the aphorism “When you’re wearing rose-colored glasses, all those red flags just look like flags.”

Marianne Williamson thinks the “Haitians eating cats” slur (which, for the record, appears to have originated with a white supremacist who literally goes by the name “Nate Higgers”) is true because the Haitian refugees in Springfield are secret Voodoo cultists.

LOL, and this is the woman who was supposedly going to challenge Biden for the Democratic nomination.

(In reality, she ran and said this stupid stuff for the same reason; to get attention so she can sell more books.)

The real victims here are the snakes. This idiot is just reaping the scaly whirlwind.

I’m curious why anyone would think people need to practice their religion in secret. There are people practicing voodoo who sacrifice chickens and goats as part of their religion. Eating cats is not a part of their religion, although in parts of the Caribbean cats are viewed both as pets and food animals (Dominica for example).

Stranger still, there are Americans who practice transubstantiation, eating the flesh and drinking the blood of their savior!

There is an amendment to the constitution that protects these wacky rituals.

Rabbits are, in the USA.

For that matter, rats are viewed as pets, as vermin to be exterminated, and as food for snakes. Which are viewed as pets, as beneficial wild creatures, and as vermin to be exterminated. Humans are pretty good at this sort of thing.

I note that people raising and/or hunting rabbit for food don’t generally go around stealing their neighbors’ pet rabbits in order to have them for dinner; nor do they generally get accused en masse of doing so. Of course, many of them are white Christians; which has nothing to do with a tendency to steal pets, but IMO a great deal to do with these accusations.

(Kayaker is obviously not making those accusations; I don’t want anybody to take that from my snip of their post.)
