‘Fortunately, the owner of the ATM had hidden an Apple AirTag in the machine.’
Well, nothing really bad happened to Helen Hayes (as Ada Quonsett) in Airport.
We have a similar person here in Chicago. She’s well-known to authorities and the TSA, but even so, she’s apparently managed to sneak onto over 20 flights (mostly at O’Hare) over the past 20-odd years.
And, yes, she’s…odd. And has, in fact, drawn comparisons to the Helen Hayes character in Airport.
I think you are on the right track. She doesn’t need a ticket because she’s not flying, she’s traveling.
SovCits generally object to government, but accept the idea of paying commercial entities for their products.
A SovCit-style argument (made of pure BS to be clear) can be advanced that TSA (or city-owned airport management) can’t keep her away from the gate. But she’d be hard-pressed to make a SovCit argument that ABC Airlines has an obligation to transport her to Boise just on her say-so, without the need to pay for a ticket.
Ok, she’s a wacko.
I’ll put this here, but it gets a cross-post to the Omnibus Evil thread too.
This little girl was at home with her family. Mom, Dad, & sibling when this happened:
My GF is a nurse in the trauma OR at the regional level 1 trauma center in downtown Miami. They pick up the problems all the other hospitals can’t handle. She has seen some shit. Often. Like most nights.
She and several other highly skilled experts spent the first 5 hours of 2025 elbow deep in what was left of that child’s brain trying to keep her alive. They failed.
The girl is dead. Her family is distraught, devastated, and will never be the same. And despite a carefully cultivated very thick skin, my GF is a mess. Which means I am too.
Fuck you you stupid careless negligent unthinking POS. You’ll never know you did this, so even if you grow a conscience at some future date, it will be untroubled by the murder you committed. Damn you to hell you bastard.
@LSLGuy 's GF: Thank you for trying.
Don’t try that shit in Missouri. Celebratory gunfire is illegal as of TODAY. Do we really need a fucking law for this shit?

People being hit with falling bullets was a gag in Zombie! vs. Mardi Gras (1999).
To your GF, from one nurse to another, one who has BTDT, {{{{{{{{ LSL and GF }}}}}}}}
As a former EMT, I fully support this sentiment.
It’s illegal almost everywhere. Including Miami. And has been for decades. Missouri is not a leader here but (as usual) a laggard.
The problem is catching anyone doing it. And for folks who cause injury or death, tying their specific random gunfire to a random victim blocks or miles away.
The former UK Home Secretary says that Italy has built a wall along its border with Turkey.
As Mrs. Olson almost said …
Imaginary border walls; they’re the cheepest kind!
More seriously Ms Braverman gives MTG a run for her money in the “Most Ignorant, Evil, and Stupid MF in Politics, female division”.
“Best in show, planet wide” is a high honor. Unless the show in question is a shitshow.
You’d think this guy was parked there and a sinkhole opened up under his car, right? It’s not that uncommon.
Nope. Broken water main. The sinkhole had already started sinking when he drove around the barricades. The weight of the car did the rest of the work. I’m sure his neighbors were thrilled to be without water for even longer now.
I just love IRL pix that look improbable enough to be CGI / AI generated.
Oops dude; you flunked driving
Heh, caught this out in the wild a few blocks from me two days ago.
This one was a while back. It was still in gear and running when it happened. The city wanted to send someone down to turn it off, but he declined since he knew that as soon as the car shifted, the spinning wheel might get some traction…then what? There’s no where to move to get out of the way. Instead, the whole city stayed glued to the news to see when it would run out of gas. IIRC it was a day or so.
It got so much publicity that a local Cadillac dealership gave him a new one.
Just about a mile or so from that first sinkhole picture with the car sticking out of it, there’s 70 foot sinkhole, about a block from my parents house. But that’s due to a broken storm drain that takes water to the bottom of a bluff to dump it in the lake.
If ypu don’t mind telling @Joey_P , where roughly is that? I lurves me some sinkhole tourism. :leer:
