The city of Cle Elum, WA is being forced to declare bankruptcy because the city tried to play Trumpian games with a real estate developer.
“Cle Elum” is almost “Mule Elk” backwards. (See the thread on playing word games).
It’s such a weird name I had to look kit up. It’s the name of a nearby river, evidently a Native American place name. It looks like it meany “swift water”
Too bad it’ll be remembered mainly for a bankruptcy and minor corruption.

It is right on I90, so thousands of people see the name on the freeway sign every day. Kind of like Oriska and Fingal North Dakota.
Yep, Cle Elum is well known to people that travel that stretch of I90. And, it has Superchargers!

So, this story goes from evil to stupid back to evil. To summarize:
Two guys on snowmobiles were accused of running over a fox. They turned themselves into the Game Commission, and were charged by the local District Attorney named Pier Hess Graf. That’s the first evil part. She then says she’ll meet with local news, provided they don’t send a reporter named Christine Vendel, who “oversees breaking news and investigations.” Why? Because Vendel" worked with reporter Jenna Wise on the yearlong investigation that uncovered Lebanon County had one of the lowest prosecution rates for sex crimes in Pennsylvania."
Here’s the stupid: Graf said, during the interview for the fox story (and to a reporter from that same outlet), that Vendel’s a horrible woman and she hopes Vendel “burns in a fire”, and Graf canceled the interview upon learning Vendel would be there. And more evil: She’s also refused to press charges in two separate rape cases.
