Agree w this last. My 30-something niece is a very much non-motorhead. She raced them from about age 8-12. And had lots of fun and no injuries. As have tens of thousands of kids over the years.
The lesser versions are powered by Briggs & Stratton 3- & 5-hp engines. The same engines that power traditional push-type power lawnmowers.

If it were straight acceleration, the racer would be going 64 mph at the finish line. Most motor vehicle acceleration is not straight but tends to fall off toward the upper end. Even so, the racer would almost certainly be going closer to 60 than to 50 at the end of a run.
My Trump cultist friend isn’t in the news, but the price of eggs is. She posted a cartoon showing Joe Biden holding a hatchet, having just beheaded a chicken. The chopping block says ‘100 million chickens killed 2024.’ Biden says to Trump, ‘Good luck with the price of eggs’.
I reminded her that the only way to stop the spread of avian flu is to kill the birds. Here response:

I get the impression that she eats ‘healthy’ foods. But her page is too exhausting to look for her food preferences. Basically, if the FDA approves, she seems to be against it. Because… deep state.

Anything good by MAGA standards that happens, it’s because trump did it, and he’ll loudly tell you so. Over and over.
Anything bad by MAGA standards happens, that’s all the fault of the deep state. And trump will make that excuse early and often. And loudly claim an intent to fix that … eventually. Then change the subject.

Because there is no ‘deep state’, avian flu has been around forever and was not ‘created’ by anybody, and because we eat chickens and their eggs, turkeys, and ducks. Sparrows… not so much.

There’s never been a conspiracy theory she didn’t believe. OK, that’s not fair. She does believe Earth is a spheroid. But Deep State, Contrails, Pizzagate, Anti-Vax, Biden Crime Family, George Soros, Hillary Clinton… too many to name. She believes in all of them. (She also hates it when I quote scripture. I call her a CINO.)
I don’t check her page often. I can’t take that much stupidity. But I do have to check on the opposition from time to time.
If the sum of her arguments are always three turd emojis, I would have long stopped communicating with that person.
Oh, her arguments often also include American flag and praying hands emojis.
If I didn’t know her personally (met her once in the '80s) I wouldn’t have friended her. (She’s a relative-by-marriage of my best friend, and saw my name on his page.) Now, I keep her around just so I can watch the Schadenfreude when it happens. But again: our contacts are infrequent. I really should tell her to shut up, because as a female her opinions are invalid.
