I don’t know the backstory behind this, for all I know the kids instigated the physical confrontation and the guy clutching his MAGA hat the entire time is blameless. I doubt it, but it’s possible. This apparently took place in Austin TX after the HS kids staged an anti-ICE walkout. Either way, while size is important, numbers count.

In it, an adult male is in a physical confrontation with at least one high school female and soon he’s being swarmed by 20 or so smaller HS students (I assume) getting pummeled on the ground. The entire time, he’s clutching his MAGA hat before escaping and making his way back to his truck.
He doesn’t look seriously hurt, but he seems surprised with how that turned out.
Ah, here we go. On second viewing, at least one student is working to pull the other students off the man and end the confrontation.

Let’s get more information out there. Here’s video of the guy walking from his car to assault what I think is a girl in a white hoodie and black pants. He shoves her down the hill then jumps on top of her before he’s swarmed by her classmates.
If the adult was the instigator, there is some good schadenfreude coming from me around that.

Ah, much better video showing the instigation, removes nearly all of the doubt. I have no clue what this MF was thinking, 20 HS students are going to kick his ass, even if some of them were actively trying to defuse the situation.
I think the video is poetry and I hope it is a reflection of how things will go for the country. Dipshit MAGA trying to push his weight around and finding that the pissed-off majority are going to beat his ass.
But fuck that Texas news station and their awful reporting. They called it “younger men and women fighting with an older man” which sounds like a bunch of healthy young adults attacking a helpless senior. In reality, it was a grown adult taking on teenagers. They were not “men and women”. Total spin. In addition, they cut out the beginning of the video, where he gets out of his truck to push a young girl down a hill, and that’s why he gets swarmed as her peers defend her.
To be fair, when I first encountered the video that’s all that there was. I didn’t see the complete video until the post by Cheeseteak. They may not have had the whole thing.
Otherwise your criticism of their reporting is dead on.
It’s a conservative area plus many local news stations are owned by Nexstar or Sinclair, which own a considerable number of local news outlets (KXAN is owned by Nexstar) and have increasingly been pushing a conservative agenda into local news coverage.
Or it could be the local coverage was just bad. Or both.
Okay, I might have been a bit too harsh on that one point, granted.
Our ABC affiliate here in the Seattle area is Sinclair, which tracks, because they sure spin a lot of right-wing stuff. You’d be surprised they even have a studio anymore in Seattle and it survived the whole city being burned down by homeless people and illegal aliens if you believed some of their stories.
So proud of those kids.
Of course the shirt on the girl next to her says “Kill Your Local Pedophile” so it’s a bit of a mixed crowd.
I just wish they had been third or fourth graders.
