There was a recent documentary about alleged abuse committed by Nickelodeon producers that came out recently. I suspect it’s part of the whole “pizza parlor child dungeon” subset of conspiracies somehow.
[W]e’ll let plebes like you carry water for government corruption at an industrial level by literally forgiving it before its ever looked at. …
This is a pattern, and you are an imbecile that apparently struggles with basic pattern recognition- a hallmark of idiots.
Of course he’s a Trump cultist friend of a Trump cultist friend. He’s also into sealioning. I just ‘like’ his posts with the ‘laugh’ smiley. I want him to know I read his crap, and that I’m laughing at him.
[For context, Trump cultist friend posted an article promoting conspiracy theories about the Key Bridge collapse. I laugh-smiley’d and said ‘Let the conspiracy theories begin!’]
Everyone that isn’t asleep knows the conspiracy is that there was a conspiracy to destroy the bridge. He fell for it, what a maroon! Some people are content with being sheep!
Here’s one for the “always run your drafts by an eighth-grader” file; the German soccer association has ordered Adidas to redesign the numbering used on the jerseys they make for their teams after social media users discovered the number 44 bears an unfortunate resemblance to a symbol that’s illegal to publicly display in Germany.
There’s something to be said for the “traditional” number style on player’s jersey’s. Straight lines, vertical and horizontal, or on a 45-degree angle. No mistaking the number, or thinking it might be anything else. Easy to spot from the 200 level, section 46, row 15.
In other words, no need to try something different, typography-wise. You’re using typography to inform people of something—the identity of the player—and nothing else. Keep things that way, and don’t get fancy.
football jerseys normally go from 1-11 … and possibly up to 19 (replacement players).
So, a Jersey with a number that high, never was a thing until a couple of years ago, when numbers beyond became a fad. To a degree that you could easily tell your defense/midfield/offense players by their numbers, and e.g. the trainers would talk about positions in those numbers (we are currently looking for a number 9, if they need a central striker)
So, my WAG: there isn’t really a standard-shirt with “44” - but you might be able to confirgure it on the interwebs (donno, not important enough to look it up) … so somewhat of a new thing to watch out for jersey companies…
So, in a way a one-day-shitstorm-induced-scandal-from-somebody-on-the-interwebs … but yeah … there you go…
This isn’t really that stupid, but it’s a completely understood situation and consquences. If you’re on a cruise and you miss the departure time from a shore excursion, you are SOL. In this case, it was results were complicated because the cruise ship couldn’t dock and the next scheduled port.
That story stung a little bit, because, if we were on a side trip, I’d be the one saying “Don’t worry! It’s not like they’d leave without all eight of us!”
(Was it a sightseeing trip sponsored, or approved, by the cruise line?)
I wouldn’t. We’ve taken a few cruises and they make it very clear, they are not holding up the trip for anyone. The excursion guide should have made sure they got back, and if they were running long, then you cut the excursion short. If I was in the excursion, I’d have been questioning the guide.
I suspect it was a general consensus of “Oh, we won’t be that late. Surely they’ll wait.” Nope.
But on Wednesday, the group of eight tourists was late to return to the ship for the all-aboard time of 3 p.m. from a private excursion on the island, which was not organized by the cruise line.
Excursions sponsored by the cruise will always get you back on time. The excursion might be cut short, but you will be returned in time. Failure to do so means they will lose the sponsorship of the cruise line.
Unsponsored excursions are at your own risk. You pay less and you have all the responsibility. This is made very very clear when they try to upsell their own sponsored excursions and then later when you leave the ship.
It’s unfortunate for the stranded tourists, but they should’ve known the risks and the penalties. I expect they actually did know, but refused to believe.
If a ship-sponsored excursion is back late, the ship will wait. Cite: My experience on a ship excursion bus stuck in traffic in Buenos Aires as striking truckers blocked the road.
I was leaving a freeway rest area, one which has an onramp of something less than 200 yards. A semi proceeds ahead of me at about 10mph, so that he can pull over and park in front of the other two rigs parked on the shoulder of the onramp, leaving me about a third of a football field to get up to speed on the freeway.
I mean, what the ever loving fuck? Why the hell are tractor-trailer rigs parking on the shoulder of the onramp in the first place? These assholes need to be fined.
