Omnibus Stupid MFers in the news thread (Part 2)

In addition, they wouldn’t believe it. They’d just say “they said they stopped, but they haven’t stopped! And they’ve admitted that they’ve been doing it!”

Need answer fast, so I can make plans for July and August.

At least you don’t have to worry about them being too hot.

And you can still see them! Are you blind!!

I’ve told this story before, but years ago I was in Minneapolis and went to a shopping mall. The different parking areas around the mall had names and pictures of animals to help you remember where your car was. I parked, looked at the sign, and as I walked into the mall I started singing.

A law was made a distant moon ago here,
July and August can not be too hot,
and there’s a legal limit to the snow here,
in Camel Lot.

As it happens, I’m in Minneapolis again this weekend for the first time in 30 years, so that story has been on my mind.

Rainy? In the UK? Bizarre! It’s legendarily as sunny as that tanning spot called Seattle, when the government isn’t interfering

Yup. I understand the “London Fog” clothing line was named after a plot point in a science fiction story. Can’t remember the name of the story though. It’s really frustrating.

Little help? TIA

Can’t be this one, could it?

I read that story in Niven’s All The Myriad Ways collection, the same collection that has “Man Of Steel, Woman Of Kleenex”.

The Daily Fail and other media outlets which have credibility problems, such as the Daily Star, appear to be the only ones reporting this so I’d take the whole thing with a grain of salt. Hold the ice.

Sometimes state legislators (in this case Minnesota) don’t make a lot of money, so need a part-time income:

[Actually in this case it may be that a man died and his daughter and the step-mother had big conflicts, so the daughter illegally went into the house to retrieve something.]

Public records and an obituary posted by a Detroit Lakes funeral home show that Mitchell’s father, who died last month, and stepmother lived on the same block of the same road in Detroit Lakes as where the senator was arrested. The stepmother did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Here is a TYT video showing a guy who used to be no Saturday Night Live (briefly, I think) trying to do a far-right stand-up. I think it is supposed to be funny. Not seeing it. He just comes off as a SMFer.

If he’s as (un)funny as, say, Mallard Fillmore, I’ll pass, thanks.

That’s Jim Breuer who, besides being on SNL for three years, was a fairly big time name in comedy for a while. It’s a shame to see how far he’s fallen, like SNL alum Dennis Miller.

I liked him in Half Baked too. :frowning:

Good call. I foolishly watched the entire video. Evidently his sole idea of humor is to insinuate non-rightwing nutjobs are parrots. He just listed a bunch of the rightwing’s pet hatreds, climate change and January 6th being an insurrection among them, while squawking like a parrot after each item on the list.

“Cockatoos”. Because “parrot” does not have “cock” in it.

Also because parrots hate to dance. It takes 'toos to tango.

How do you accidentally, innocently get ammo mixed into your luggage?

I saw this report last night and am pretty amazed at the attitude of the couple. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, but to fly internationally without knowing that you have ammo in your luggage is ridiculous. The wife kept saying it was an innocent mistake - but not all countries treat guns and ammo like we do in the US.
