I read/skimmed chunks of it. No idea what the ask was. Usually there’s something. “Should I stay?” “Does he love me?” “Does the cat love me?” Something. I think this just ended with a vaguely ominous promise to come back with updates.

I have no opinion about that thread, but SamuelA is the guy who reads too much sci-fi and has it confused with fact. I’m surprised he didn’t suggest putting the body in a walk-in freezer and waiting for science to revive it – this is the guy who very wrongly stated in another thread that medical science believes cryogenically frozen brains can be revived. Also believes the answer to everything is intelligent self-replicating machines. And I mean everything! It’s his one-trick pony. Ask him anything, and it will be done with intelligent self-replicating machines. “We already have 'em!” Or possibly, in the future everything will be done with intelligent self-replicating machines controlled by revived human zombies (FDA mandatory label: “Previously frozen”).

We are all self replicating machines, though I suppose it could be argued as to whether or not we are intelligent.
Ah, yes–every problem mentioned is easily solvable–just build self-replicating AI-operated robots, interstellar communication lasers, fusion drives, and upload human minds: it is all there in principle, it is just an engineering problem!
