To be fair, the “not always right” part comes mainly from a loose interpretation of the word “troll”. Many of the uniquely wonderful posters identified here are not actually trolls, but are still worthy of attention – if not Ban Camp, then perhaps one’s “ignore” list, or as a source of unintended humor. For instance I don’t think the Man Trap Filter, who brings us such refreshingly novel theories of physics, is actually a troll, but rather a moron and Dunning-Kruger exemplar extraordinaire. Others that I won’t mention because they’re no longer with us were various kinds of sociopaths. But in general I think the collective judgment in this thread in identifying the wonderfully deviant has been pretty accurate.
Agreed. My working definition of “troll” is somebody being disingenuously provocative for his/her entertainment. IOW a vandal.
Ordinary jerks, know-nothings, and folks unable to form a coherent paragraph outnumber “true” trolls probably 10 to 1. They’re all pests, but only trolls and jerks are readily bannable as a status crime. The others need to work a bit to rise to the level of bannable for conduct.
This thread has been wonderful in that respect. Thanks to everyone here who’s included links. I mean, reading the almost-a-trolls’ tenuous grasp of politics, the scientific method (even reality itself!) is entertainment at its best.

I still think sweat209 is just someone who barely speaks English and is gets very intrigued by what he reads. Of course he’s never read the book. He only reads English online or from school. (I believe he was the one who would ask ESL homework questions here, until we told him to cut it out.)
Maybe I’m just being gullible. But I think we’re actually fighting ignorance with this guy.

My assumption was always that it was a misspelling of “sweet.” Not sure about the 209, though there is a Summer Sweet 209 bell pepper.
