Posting a weak ass yet provocative thread like that in MPSIMS where it can’t be called out in a vulgar way is shit. In a country that allows fucking nazis to gather and march down the street, I don’t need any right wingers worrying about the well being of free speech. I was thisclose to being warned in that thread, and I understand why, and haven’t participated since.

Well, you sure need somebody to reming you about free speech. Perhaps one of our resident lefties can remind this guy why we allow Nazis to march in the streets in the US.

I think his point is that the Nazis marching is evidence we do, in fact, have free speech.
If he did, then he needs to be reminded that it’s one right that needs to be carefully guarded, as it is perhaps the one most easily eroded. It’s one of the easiest things in the world to only care about speech that you agree with, and not so much about speech you don’t. And there is an alarming rise among young folks today to want to be able to censor speech that is “uncomfortable” or whatever the fashionable phrase is these days, so when we see that effort being quashed, that’s a good thing.
But aside from that, the statement that “he didn’t need…” someone to post what they did also reminds us that we are fortunate this board’s moderation isn’t determine by what he needs or does not need to see.

The only thing that is “shit” is a mindset that can’t respond to an issue without being nasty. Of course you don’t and can’t understand why a robust defense of fundamental rights is important so I won’t waste my time.
