The broad generalizations about the board as a whole are irritating. Five or six people are pissed off at you, that’s no grand conspiracy, it’s five or six people pissed off at you. I have no knowledge of the drama in question and am choosing not to engage based on the fact that the subject matter will likely shoot my blood pressure through the roof… but come *on. *
I think the issues is: Don’t turn this thread into an ongoing pissing match between posters. If such a match is needed, open a thread specifically for that.
I’d like to advance the daring theory that perhaps the new troll referenced here who seeks a dominate [sic] Master and S&M partner is related to our new trocks johnod and PCarolinus, if not one and the same. Observe that none of them can write or spell, or form paragraphs. Now I grant you that illiteracy is an attribute common to low intelligence of around the level of imbecile, which all three share, but there’s more. Note that PCarolinus in particular has a high tolerance for abuse, if not an outright attraction to it. PCarolinus considers sexual assault to be a “hilariously trifling complaint”, and moreover, keeps coming back here after being subjected to a torrent of insults that make it clear that, despite its considerable talents, we would all prefer that said trock bugger off someplace else. Yet it’s still here, and seems to enjoy the abuse. I’m suspicious.
Yep. That’s why I’ve been starting Pit threads for people lately - to get them out of this one. I’d love to have an Omnibus Argument thread, but I don’t know if we could get appropriate participation.
It’s fair enough to call three trocks a trifecta, but I believe the formal collective term is a plack of trolls, socks, or trocks.
Although sticklers for linguistic formality will sometimes refer to a synchophant of trocks.
I should mention that this is not to be confused with the medieval meaning of “synchophant”, as used by our learned friend PCarolinus. That term is from the root “syncho”, denoting a kind of line dance, and the Greek “phaino” meaning “to show”. We owe this terminology once again to medieval Scotland. It refers to a form of popular entertainment at the time whereby drunken Scotsmen would spontaneously form a conga line in the town square and systematically doff their kilts to the accompaniment of rollicking bagpipes. As the contemporary essayist William Dunbar wrote in The Complaynt of Scotlande, or, the Daunce of the Synchophantes, these were quite scandalous affairs:

Like, have you read a newspaper? A couple comments about your lunch shouldn’t send you running for the nearest lawyer. Real world problems, people. All over the place.

If the small snippets I’ve been exposed to have left me with anything like an accurate picture of her issue, she had a co-worker commenting on her lunch. She did not feel that making comments about someone else’s lunch or other eating habits was polite, appropriate, or something she should have to put up with, so she asked politely that the co-worker refrain from making comments to her. Her polite requests were ignored, and the comments to her continued, which, BY DEFINITION, raises the co-worker’s behavior to the level of harassment. The fact that the co-worker was apparently her direct supervisor makes the harassment more egregious, and a report to HR entirely justified.
You don’t get to go unchallenged if you decide to characterize her reaction as that of a twit. By doing so, you are effectively arrogating to yourself the right to choose where she is allowed to set her personal boundaries and what she is allowed to do to obtain respect for them.
If others have mistakenly conflated your arrogance wrt Nawth Chucka’s personal boundaries with a decree that any brand of assault is of trivial importance, that’s on them. What’s on you is that you didn’t acquit yourself well in the discussion.
kaylasdad99 one more bit of info. The co-worker wasn’t commenting on the food per se, she was commenting on Nawth Chucka’s body. “You look like that and you’re eating that?” “You look so X” and so on. She got told to stop, she wouldn’t stop, it escalated from there. Based on my training, I would characterize it as a hostile work environment.
PC Trock was being a jerk and ridiculously over-simplifying the matter.
