No, it is a logical extension of the idea: if nobody below 8 goes to hell and if a percentage of people above 8 go to hell, the most effective way to minimize people going to hell is to kill all people before they turn 8. It will also solve the problem for the unknowable billions of potential hellbound from the future generations that would be prevented by our extinction.

He is trying to understand their logic even in a joking way of why wouldn’t some consider him a hero since he pretty much guaranteed them a spot in heaven. I was doing so in the same spirit when someone said Mormons believe the children also would also go to heaven till a certain age if a shooter did so. I brought that up in the same spirit.
