I’ve seen a very odd electronic billboard here (NE Florida) saying something like “Hayes was wrong.” It rarely is visible long enough for me to read the entire screed. Who cares what Rutherford B. Hayes thinks in 2017?

Gram for gram, hummingbirds are the most ferocious creatures on the planet. My tutelary deity is Huitzilopochtli, the Southern Hummingbird. The Aztecs picked the hummingbird to be their god of war, blood, and human sacrifice. (That’s a spammer in the upper right.)

Extremely well, actually, until they had to deal with steel swords and gunpowder. The Aztecs conquered most of central Mexico in less than a century with their rapacious ideology.
