Omnibus Trolls R Us Thread

Clusterhood of the traveling sock?

If the mods ever caught on, though, the participants would be hosed.

Run!!

I hereby deny that I ever had any knowledge that Morgenstern was a group sock, that I had the password or that I ever signed into that sock account.

The account never should have been named “The Darner”. Just too obvious.

Clusterfuck of the traveling sock. FTFY.

I wonder if every board has a Fotheringay-Phipps? My other board has his posting twin, circular logic and haughty astonishment when no one else can follow it. Never gets discouraged, just keeps coming back and pointing in the wrong direction. What annoying pricks they all are.

This is BOB.

BOB is [brzzt!] feeling well!

Every forum in the USA hates their stupid poster. He’s Phipps and he’s really, really lame.

What up with Steven Estes?

[del]Thread please?[/del]

Nevermind, found it. GQ. I’m guessing Middle School.

Looks like he’s been on a break since 2009. Guess he saved up a lot of questions.

Yeah, that’s 4 new threads in GQ today. 16 total posts in 13 years, all starting new threads, never replies to anything. Before today, last activity in 2009. That’s another one for the “weird pattern” column.

Since he joined in 2001, he’s at least 30.

Asking four questions in GQ on the same day makes someone a troll now?

Actually, his first post was in 2005, but he joined in 2001. The system can’t even give an accurate “posts per day” and says 0.00. Luckily, I have a date calculator on my phone so I can easily see that it is 5,999 days since he joined, for an average (at the moment I posted this) of 0.00266711118519753292215369228205 posts per day.

Not correct. Five of his posts have been either replies to his own threads or posts in other threads.

Decidedly an odd posting pattern, but by no stretch of the imagination a troll.

I’m not doxxing him, since he gave his full name and discussed his book in one of his threads. But this appears to be the guy (unless it’s someone posing as him):

Yup, middle school for sure.

I got the impression that something of this kind had already happend, either on this board or on AOL, back in '99. When I was a newbie, I’d occasionally come across a post where someone would reference LOVEROCK in a sly, knowing manner. I made some half-hearted inquiries, but the impressions I came away with were that LOVEROCK was some kind of multi-user sock, and that nobody felt that the affair was either admirable/clever or interesting enough to discuss in detail.

Well, that was not fun to read about.

So he’s some retired professor running a sociology test on our board? :dubious:
