I’m not saying it isn’t a coincidence-I believe you guys when you say you investigated. I’m just saying that, as coincidences go, this one rates pretty high.
As a wise woman once said in a sitcom “There are no big coincidences or little coincidences. There are only coincidences.”
I posted in the ATMB thread that even if it wasn’t the original poster’s sock, it could be someone else’s who’s just trying to play a dumb joke by making a new username very similar to a recently banned troll. Not a huge deal, but that seems a lot more likely than that someone just so happened to sign up with a near-identical name to a troll banned a matter of hours before.
Like I said in ATMB, if you think you have better information than we do, please send it to us. Otherwise you are attacking an innocent poster unjustly.
He said in a thread that is specifically for attacking potentially innocent posters, particularly the new ones, unjustly.
It’s pretty normal for people to call people trolls or socks here when the mods disagree. You guys are still asking for more info, so clearly whatever investigation you did wasn’t 100% foolproof.
I personally find it too coincidental myself, and thus will remain suspicious until I see more how this poster acts. And then I may decide they definitely aren’t a sock, or that they are a sock even though I can’t prove it.
I can’t prove Dacien is a sock, either. But I still think he is. I always do of “long time lurkers” who come in and stir up shit.
