It’s not the photos that were the notable part of the story, I think that’s happened in numerous countries. It was the idea that poorly educated people thought that the cigarettes had changed from the old safe ones without the photos, to horrible new cigarettes that kill you. I don’t now how plausible it really is, so I don’t want to mention the specific Third World country that the story was supposedly about, because I can’t find any reliable account of it.
It’s reminiscent of people thinking that they were losing part of their lives when they dropped 11 days from the calendar in the eighteenth century.
It reminds me of the dude who bought a pack of cigarettes with the warning “Smoking makes you impotent” and said “No thanks, I rather take one with cancer.”
Yeah, like, I was born in December, so I must not die during daylight savings time or I will lose an hour of my life.
Those people had a legitimate beef; if taxes or rent are due on the first of the month and the first of the month comes 11 days early, there’s going to be a problem for a lot of folks. I wonder if the complaint about losing 11 days of life were made up to discredit the people who were being charged for rent, etc. for days that didn’t happen.
Brave defender of pedophiles, Fiddle Pighead, claims the new Michael Jackson documentary and pedophilia case isn’t all that important to him, yet somehow spends 40 posts… over 1/3rd of all thread activity… “not defending” a pedophile, yet, still, defending him.
Don’t know if he’s a troll (he admitted as such, but whatever), but figured this was the place to put out a pedophile-defender alert.
Defending a public person while not defending has become something of an art in this country lately.
And this has to do with trolls how? By his own admission, he likes to write. He has selected us as his audience. I’m not seeing anything remotely related to trollery here.
This thread stopped being solely about trolls and expanded into “weird newbie” territory a while back. 
Maybe he’s a troll, maybe not, but he’s certainly weird.
