It looks mostly copied. No he hasn’t come back to respond yet. The main reason I don’t think he’s our friend from Rutgers is that he doesn’t engage very much. Rutgers-sock likes to post.

But he’s not remotely in the running either.
Really, the only way for socks to avoid detection over a long period of time is 1) completely change their behavior, and desist from insults, trolling, snarkiness, or the other things that got them banned; and 2) refrain from posting on their favorite subjects. But if they do that, what’s the point for them? They may chortle to themselves at having put one over on the stupid mods, but we’ve effectively changed their behavior, which is the point of warnings and bannings. Most people who aren’t mentally ill (or college sophomores) get tired of the game after a while.
And we can rely not only on the mods to detect them, but hundreds of keen-eyed posters to detect suspicious behavior. Thanks for your reports and your posts. The guesses aren’t always right, but they do help in drawing attention to possible socks for investigation. (And just because we don’t ban someone immediately doesn’t mean we don’t think they are a sock. We may just not have accumulated sufficient evidence yet.)
