There goes Connor. Damn.
Bell Beau, maybe.

If I have to hear the term “core special teams player” once more, I’m going to puke. I see Mario Manningham. And 11 picks until the Packers take Tyron Branch or Tashard Choice or Jeremy Thompson.
And Kansas City’s draft just keeps getting better and better…
Texans get Steve Slaton at 89. They’ll regret not taking Choice.

Kevin FUCKING Smith goes to the Lions. Good pick.

Is that the death knell I hear for the bet?

Also, if you’re wondering about the Dizon pick, this might either shed some light or make you want to brush again to get the bad taste out of your mouth.
Packers take Jermichael Finley. Sure TE is a position of need, and Finley has a lot of “upside”, but his blocking is weak and he’s immature. Maybe having a kid will help him grow up and he’ll blossom into a great pass catcher. And maybe Kevin Smith will make a pro bowl…
Cliff Avril is a great pick there. He could work out nicely for the Lions.
Do the Colts take Manningham? They have great people to keep him in line…
NFL network was talking about Indy taking Mario Manningham, I’m glad they didn’t though. Offence isn’t Indy’s problem.
Anybody know anything about Philip Wheeler?

He’s had a hard time finding a position. He’s played DE, ILB, and finally OLB. He needs space to work, because he’s not a big hitter, but he can pass rush and stay with the faster TE’s in coverage. He’s a good fit within the Colts defensive scheme.
I see Tom Brady has some competition at QB now.
Wow, the Cowboys must not like anyone hear, three straight trades down.
Now we get to see the Brown’s first pick of 2008.
Heh, Beau Bell
Fuck yeah.
I think.
And there goes Tyvon Branch.

Well it looks like the Eagles are done for today. I rate their draft pretty highly, all things considered.
If you take this at face value, they drafted a WR who was projected by almost everyone as a first round pick. They got a fanatical DT who seems to be the perfect backup based on scouting reports. So they used two picks and got a 1st round quality WR and a second round quality DT, sounds about right. Except they also got a second 1st round pick next season… a huge take for them.
If you had told me the Eagles would draft a 1st round quality WR, a backup DT with a great motor (and one of the best run tacklers in the nation last season), AND got a 2009 1st rounder? I’d be ecstatic. The Eagles also picked up a couple 4th round picks. I like the strategy, and though I really dislike Desean Jackson, I can’t argue with the results. The Eagles still have Lito, and a ton of picks tomorrow to possibly make a package deal for a player or more picks next year. For a potential playoff team, that’s a great place to be in.
I give them a B- to a B.

Looks like I picked the right guy, just the wrong round!
I hope he works out for you, as a secondary Redskins fan I’m counting on your Iggles to put the smack down on the hated Cowgirls twice a year!

Remind me what the Browns did to not get a pick until Round 4? Did they sell their collective soul to the Forces of Light?
Typical New England choice in round three – a quarterback! NE seems to know better than anybody what useful pawns quarterbacks are.
Woohoo!
Let’s hear it for “Manning to Manningham”, it’ll be music to my ears. I take it all back Omni, the Giants needed a WR and got a great value one. Sure he’s a weed smoker, but it’s not like the Giants haven’t dealt with that kind of thing before with David Tyree.
What are the Browns trading now?

They sent the 1st rounder to the Cowboys for Quinn last year, their 2nd to Green Bay for Corey Williams and their 3rd rounder to Detroit for Shaun Rogers. So a back-up QB/QB of the future and a pair of DTs.
