One car, only one, any one you want. Which?

I came into the thread to mention one of the Bentleys myself, but then the OP threw all these limitations into the mix…you know, like I had to be able to afford ownership and upkeep and all that other outrageous stuff. So instead, I’d opt for the 2007 Nissan Maxima.

Either the Subaru Forester, or a Saturn SW2, that’s been modified so my foot can hit the gas without hitting the brake at the same effing time.

Consumer Reports has rather bad things to say about the Yaris. Sorry. How about the Hinda FIT?

For me? A Honda Accord Hybrid. Boring I know, but the OP made quite a few restictions, such as having to pay for expenses and actually drive the thing for every day usage. It’s practical but just out of my reach price-wise.

Right now I am saving for a Civic Hybrid.

Ahem I don’t think so. First of all, if anybody around here is going to be tooling around in a Tucker, it’ll be me, thank you very much. Secondly, the car you’ve linked to is a Tucker 48, this is a Tucker Torpedo. (And that, you may have.)

Ferrari 430. I’ve been in love with this vehicle ever since I read the first story on it. And its
win at the recent Sebring race in a door-to-door duel with rival Porsche just seals the deal.
[This assumes Moneybags has an escrow account to go along with the amount of purchase,
to pay for maintenance etc.]

A Maserati but I havent decided on which model. And the bonus is that the dealer is down the road. :stuck_out_tongue:

If I got me to buy me any car I wanted? I would buy my own car from me. Its a Land Rover Defender 110.

It gets me anywhere and is great pulling a heavy trailer. It has got room for lots and lots of people and gear. And its good fun to drive off-road with.

And most importantly, it is easy fix yourself, it is like a techno-Lego car, only bigger.

If I wanted to change anything, I might just put in V8 engine because the it sounds much better. Or I could just chip tune the dieselengine to get a bit more oomph.

Whoops… and :stuck_out_tongue:

1989 4Runner SR5 V6. Can I get it with the head gasket already replaced?

I do not understand SUV s . They are boxes with a wheel in each corner. They are unattractive. Perhaps under some circumstances practical. If you have a bunch of kids or carry around a lot of stuff for work they can sort of be justified.
Me, I want my 63 XKE back.
BuzzTrader.com is for sale | HugeDomains Mine was bright red .

Hee. I was looking here at the models and thought “They have a model named Configurator? That’s the one I want.”

I thought about the Honda Civic Hybrid too, but I think the gas kicks in at 25 mph. Even in town I drive faster than that (not too much stop and go) so I’m not sure it would be worth the extra money.

If you want a ‘practical’ car as the OP suggested I would choose the [Quattroporte](http://www.maserati.com/4p_05/ita/index.html /) . which in my eyes is the most beautifull 4 door car i’ve ever seen.

Yep. Although if I had it to do over I’d get it in that cactus green color. Mine’s blue. Blueblueblue. The same color as over half of the others on the road. (Is yours blue, too?)

I might have to cave in and get the automatic, too. The arthritis in my hip makes driving a manual a chore at times.

A 1956 Continental Mark II Convertible for me, please.

When they were being sold they were more expensive than a Rolls Royce. Ford claimed they lost $1,000 on each car sold. Plus there were only 2 factory convertibles made.

Probably the most beautiful luxury car ever made, IMNSHO.

Ah yes, shipped in felt lined box cars to keep them clean and neat during transport. IIRC, the fuel filler cap was located behind one of the tail lights. A marvel of engineering for it’s time and any time when I hear an ad from Ford talking about the latest incarnation of the Mark series of cars, I laugh, since they’re a pale imitation of this one.

For the record, that Torpedo is one ugly car.

I’d finish restoring my 1969 Buick Riviera.

My first thought was a 1988 Toyota 4Runner. I love the removable top, and they are decent little truck/suvs and they run forever. Of course, I think that I would like something newer, so I imagine that my first choice would be a late 90’s Land Rover Discovery. I think they are amazing vehicles, but I cannot afford one.

This is the 2nd 4Runner comment - kinda interesting. I drive a 1990 today with 255,000 miles on it and I’m hoping for another 2 years out of it. It’s my experience with this truck that makes me comment on the FJ in my original post.

Yours is the 2nd Land Rover comment, too. I always thought they just looked like top-heavy toasters. The reputation of british vehicles in general doesn’t make me feel warm and fuzzy about owning one, either.

I’m quite fond of my 95 Volvo 850. It could be a bit more zippy, so I’d probably opt for the Turbo, and the visibility is a bit less than I’d like (though better than the new ones, aka Fords) but I can’t imagine liking any car better. Although the old Mercedes 380 SL was a pretty sweet ride.
