It’s the one for Office Depot set to The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. Otherwise known as the “They’re going back!!!” ad.
You know the one, the father is joyously dancing with his shopping cart, flying down the aisles throwing various school supplies in it, while behind him his 2 oh-so-charming children are pouting because it’s time to go back to school.
But we have a new fave in our household that doesn’t play nearly often enough: The Joe Boxer Kmart Commercial with the Happy Dancing Man.
My honey rolls on the floor every time that comes on.
By the way, can someone tell the guys who bought Adcritic that $70 a year or nothing SUCKS? They should have a lower price point for people who just want to visit occasionally for a day or month or week or something.
The ad in the original post is for Staples, not Office Depot.

The current owners of AdCritic, Advertising Age, are nothing new to high prices. Ad people must have deep pockets-a one-year subscription costs $119! That’s a lot for a newspaper-I forget if it’s published daily or weekly
I agree, WSLer! This is one of my all-time favorites too!
And thanks for the tip on Ads.comMax Torque. I have missed AdCritic, but will not pay the $70 fee.
As a kid I hated those commercials… especially because companies would run their ‘back-to-school’ ads WAY too early in the summer, at least IMHO. I didn’t want to be reminded of school, and didn’t want to shop at a place that drilled it into my head.
I still have a hatred for these commercials. The hatred is not for me, but every other kid that HATED school as much as me.

I agree with you, Diff! I could not stand kindergarten through 12th grade, and the back to school crap starts way too early! Let the poor kids enjoy their summer vacation, for crying out loud.
