One of our own in trouble

I’m sorry about the news. Stick close to your family and help each other get by.

I don’t know about other states, but here in Michigan we have coverage under a homeowner’s policy that covers living accomodations while repairs are being made, for either a set period of time or dollar amount. So if you lived in a 2 bedroom house, then they would have to allow you at least that much in accomodations. Any way, I hope that’s the case here.

Best of luck. Please update us when you can.

I am very sorry to hear of what you have been through. I hope everything goes smoothly to rebuild and start over.

Where do you live?

Sending prayers and positive vibes…

Prayers and good wishes your way. Please let us know if you need anything.

Please - let me know if there’s anything at all we can do to help also! Mr, Missy, and Mini2U sending good vibes your way…

I, too, have offered a prayer for SilkyThreat. I’ve noticed that she is always among those who offer condolences and prayer in threads like this one. SilkyThreat, may God go with you always.

My condolences, best wishes, and relief that no one was hurt. Also, again, insurnace may well offer coverage for accomodations during this time. I know ours does. And if there’s any assistance I can offer, I would gladly do so.

I am also glad that they are healthy and made it out.
We had a room fire last year aroudn this time.
My father didn’t have insurance so the room is still black. We never go in there.
Thankfully, me and my son were home, or our condo would be gone.

Sending besh wishes. Glad to hear Silky and family made it out safely, though of course it’s still a very sad incident.

Warm thoughts and hugs,

Kn*ckers

I’m so sorry.

Billy, you are under orders from me to beat SilkyThreat until she comes up with something we can do. Even if it’s just to send holiday cards. Or to do some online shopping for her kids so Christmas will go off on time. Even if insurance will cover everything, that doesn’t mean it will all get straightened out on a convenient timetable.

Or, barring that, maybe a gift to her local fire department’s equipment fund? I’d be happy to coordinate that through my paypal account if we have anyone who is interested.

Under no circumstances would I EVER beat Silkythreat- however I will ask her if she has any specific wants or needs, again, mostly I think she needs our prayers.
Her address is listed here, so if you want to help in some other way, that is, and should be, between you and her, and not a public issue. Just search a thread she’s posted in ad get her address from her profile.

Not, Cranky, that I would not jump at the chance to be under your orders, you understand. Hell, you can order me to do ANYTHING, just not beat a woman. And yes, I understand what you mean, and I appreciate it, and I’m sure Silky does as well. Thanks!

What an enormous bummer. Silky, I’m so sorry but am glad all your family’s okay. We’ll look forward to things getting back to normal for you and include your safety in our holiday thanks.

Wow, what a way to start the holidays, but thanks be that all of you are safe, SilkyThreat. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Silky, I’m praying for you and your family. If anything ever called for a Christmas Miracle, this is it. I’m sending every good thought I can your way.

Oh, gracious.

Heartfelt, prayerful thanks that Silky and family are all safe and unharmed. Hopeful prayers that they will have a new home very soon. Wish I had more than words to offer for comfort at this dreadful time…

To all Dopers: PLEASE be careful out there. Such a close call after so recently losing one of our own is too frightening. Though I know only a tiny few of you, everyone here is important to me as a member of this community. Let’s do all we can to keep it intact.

That purely sucks.

I’m glad your family is okay, Silky. Please, let us know if you need anything.

I’m so thankful that the family is doing fine. May you have peace during this holiday season, and may you remember to hug each other a little tighter.

Best wishes, warm thoughts and prayers.

Oh gosh, that is terrible news! I am glad that Silky and family are safe. Even when it is only material possessions that are lost, it’s a real blow to your peace of mind and sense of security. Best wishes for safe and happy holidays, and please let us know if there is anything more concrete that we can help with!

sending warm thoughts your way Silky.
