Home, work sucked, beer, 31 days.
Hey, DB, we announced our first signing of the 07-08 season. Ryan Senft was our second goalie last season - he finished fourth in the the league with a goals against of 3.36. (Our first goalie was #1) Rumor has it that our first goalie is retiring so Ryan is a good place to start. Damn I miss hockey.
I’ll try to get some pictures of the better stuff before the show and I will definitely take pictures of the booth and whatnot. I’ve got over 150 pieces over $4 tagged; I’m not putting tags on stuff under $4. I made some beautiful beads last night.
I am ready for it to be over. I need to finish up and rest before the show!
Thanks gt, you’re the best!! And yes, I read stuff out of context. And yes, I have a weird sense of humor sometimes. Thanks for not pointing and laughing.
The chili was wonderful, rosie! It was a little bland but that completely was my fault; I skimped on the pepper flakes and the spices, and I think the salsa I used was too mild. Next time I’ll do better.
I might read a bit of Kushiel’s Dart, but it’s going to be an early night for me. Sweet dreams, all.
I’m sitting up way after I should be in bed because I am an AUNT! My best friends Havanese gave birth yesterday to three puppies… sadly one of them didn’t make it but the other two are fine. I’m online with the proud grandma talking about puppies…
Congratulations on being an aunt, SCL!
rigs, great news about getting sprung out of the joint. But as hospital stays go, yours sounds pretty darn acceptable. . . good food, internet connection, nice bedrest and work on your paper done. Not too shabby! I hope you’re feeling bouncy again soon.
I’m bored. I’m so bored that I’m the last poster on the top three Pit threads. If that doesn’t say bored, I don’t know what does. How else can I procrastinate about what I’m supposed to be doing?
Well, in the immortal words of a certain Mr F. Mercury, “let me entertain you.”
It’s nice with the non-stop global MMP now, isn’t it? One end of the line is up and about, the other side hasn’t gone to sleep yet…
Oh, and it Sunday. Don’t even argue with me
SCL – congrats!
Everybody else – sweet dreams
By the time I checked this, you made it by 20 minutes.
Go ahead, entertain me! Oh, did you mean that your post was the entertainment? Well, that lasted for about 30 seconds.
Anyway, I’m off to bed now, so you’re off the hook. Have a great Sunday and let me know how it goes so I’m prepared when it happens here.
Nighty, night!
Guess you finally got around to doing what needed doing? You’re a better person than I am… I can procrastinate for evah :o
And I won’t say anything about the conjunction of “Go ahead, entertain me!” and “I’m off to bed now.”
What? Hey, stop hitting me! What did I say this time? I didn’t say anything, I swear I didn’t!!
If all this shameless flirting and such continues, we’ll have to change the name from MMP to Horn Dog Central…
Yet another milder day in store - we might see mid-80s, so the house remains open. I am loving this!! Once **FCD ** drags his sleeping self to wakey-world, we’ll go get some breakfast, and I’ll get the rest of the batting I need. I’ll be skipping the velcro - it’s just not necessary that I be able to take these cushion covers on and off all the time. If they get so dirty that I can’t wash them in place, that means the foam is also cruddy, so I’ll have to replace the entire unit anyway. So I’ll do like I did for the last boat and sew everything closed by hand.
Last night, we discovered why digital cable is so necessary in our lives. While flipping thru the listings on the guide, we came across an American classic in television: Pants Off Dance-off. When we saw the name, we knew we had to watch at least some of it. And here’s what we learned:
-
Five “pancers” compete and there are 2 guest judges. Last night’s judges were Honey and Precious. Yes, they did look like they’d done some pole dancing.
-
Each “pancer” picked a music video to which they’d perform. The video showed behind the performance, so I expect green screen was involved.
-
Removal of clothing was involved.
-
Total nekkidtude was not shown, but a web address was provided for those interested in the nekkidtude part.
-
The MC would appear and make comments, some snarkier than others, while the “pancing” was in progress.
-
Contestants made up weird names and wore varied outfits to start.
-
The first girl on last night called herself Roja Rouge. She had red hair - get it? She claimed to be a burlesque dancer in Brooklyn, NY. She definitely skimped on the dance classes, and she did appear to enjoy shaking her butt and getting nekkid. After the first one, then turned off the TV and went to bed.
For this, we’re paying $20 per month?? OK, for this and all of the Encore and Starz and Discovery channels, plus some other stuff we will actually watch. One of these days, we’ll have to stay up for the whole show, just to see how this disaster ends. But it was, um, something…
So anyway, critters are fed and I’m caffeinating. I can’t believe I’m up, since I had a terrible time falling asleep last night. But the day is dawning and the birds are singing, and blah blah, blah.
SCL, I hadn’t mentioned it, but I am so looking forward to seeing your wares and your booth. Hope you sell a buttload!
I’m awake, sort of. And it’s wet out, but just barely.
People flirt here? I had no idea.
Since it’s wet, I’m going to clean and start laundry. There are supposed to be scattered thunder showers today (and the next four days or so). Yay for rain; boo for not getting gardening done.
I really need caffeine.
GT
Good Mornin’ Y’all!
Congrats to Aunt Snakes! We need pictures. Of the puppies and the jewelry stuff.
FCM digital cable is, well, yeah, it is, ain’t it? I don’t have all the Starz, Encore, Showtime, HBO stuff but I do have stuff like BBC America which I like and I like the music channels. I’ll put one of the music channels on as background music when people are about da cave or when I’m messin’ around da cave and want some music. It’s nice. Plus there’s other stuff I watch from time to time.
I’m up and caffienatin’. Soon I shall go purtify and hie myself to church. I’m an usher today so I get to do ush stuff and wear a little name tag that says “Usher”, as if people can’t figure out that those who hand out service leaflets, open doors and say “Good Mornin’!” incessantly whilst grinnin’ like cheshire cats aren’t ushers.
Nuttin’ much else to report here. Hope everyone’s recuperatin’ or gettin’ stuff done as needed.
Apropos of absolutely nothing, as received on the office’s Humor Mailing List:
A Scientific Discovery:
Scientists have finally discovered what’s wrong with most politicians’ brain:
on the left side of the brain, there is nothing right;
and on the right side of the brain, there is nothing left.
**SCL **-- Good luck with the show!
**dogbutler **-- Only 30 days, and counting. Hang in there.
rigs, Li-li – How you doin’? (What? I mean health-wise! Really, people, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves! And you say I’ve got my mind in the gutter… :p)
Time to go back to work, enjoy your Sunday, people.
Congrats, Aunt SCL! Gland you a got a goalie signed.
Hey doggio. Did you see there’s a Roomba poll in IMHO?
Still need caffeine.
GT
All purtified here. Dunno if ol’ y’all know who is goin’ this mornin’ or not. I need to leave a little early to make sure all the ush stuff is in place and all that fun stuff. If he goes when I do then it’s just borin’ sittin’ around. I think I heard sounds from the master bath so maybe he does plan on it and is comin’ a little later. Don’t y’all just love hearin’ all the wonderful things that go on at da cave?
Back from breakfast and getting batting. We ran by the boat to pick up the bag o’ electrical tools - **FCD ** is going to install some plugs today, and he’s hoping to get the bedroom and bathroom doors hung, so yay! I’m about to go back to my sewing machine. It’s a gorgeous day and we really should be out sailing, except our boat is still a wreck inside and not ready to sail. Oh well…
Two anna half weeks till my baby arrives - YAY! It’ll be fun, even if she *insists * on bring future SIL along. What’s she need to go and get married for, anyway? She’s still a baby!! <sigh>
OK, can’t avoid it. Off to do the seamstress/upholsterer thing.
So far, so good. No puking. Of course, I just got up twenty minutes ago…
gt, if you’re not noticing the flirting, you need a lot more caffeine!
As soon as I’m confident about not puking, I should do some housecleaning. Everything’s messy.
We don’t get interesting channels with shows like Pants Off Dance-Off, either, but we do get BBC America and all that music and stuff, too. But you guys ain’t seen nothing till you’ve seen an Italian show Colpo Grosso, which is basically an amateur stripping contest except none of the girls involved have either a good body or talent. And it’s even funner dubbed into Japanese, which is how I saw it. We still have a videotape of one or two episodes of it around here somewhere. I’ll have to see if I can find it because it is baaad TV.
It is indeed a lovely morning. It was just delightfully cool last night for sleeping; I slept like a baby. I hated to get up, it was so peaceful lying there enjoying the cool breeze. Especially because I stayed up waay too late last night finishing that ghastly job. Which I finished, thank heaven, and today will be much more relaxed. But as I woke up, a little neighborhood church was ringing its bell. They have a real bell with a lovely warm tone that they ring for a couple of minutes to announce the start of services, and it was just such a nice sound on such a pretty morning.
Isaac learned he was definitely out of jail this morning – he got to go swimming again! Yay yay yay! Except that some idiots who unfortunately also didn’t speak English brought two huskies down to the busy beach, one of which is aggressive and challenging so was kept on a leash. Which meant that every other dog with the slightest trace of alpha came around trying to challenge him, but of course being on a leash he was very defensive. It could have turned very ugly very quickly, but the humans got it calmed down, thank heaven, before a massive dog rumble ensued. Strangely, Rusty, the giant wuss, was in the front of the challenging pack; he may be a wuss, but he’s an alpha wuss! Stoopid dogs.
Okay, off to caffeinate some more. Good luck with the not puking, LiLi!
Tired, fed, caffeinating, and about to shower before my pal gets here and we go to the ball game.
Home tonight from the game, make dinner, pack and rest before I get up and leave the house at 5 tomorrow morning.
I’ll be kind of in and out of the MMP until later Wednesday.
Yay to rigs being sprung! Can you order out the hospital food?
