One sentence summaries that miss the point -- The Game

Correct!

Yeah, ok, well I got your Flair right here!

Yeah, no, I had a hunch that 65 was Office Space. As I was going to type it, I was thinking that it COULD go to 66.

Yeah.

You guys tell me what I could have said, AFTER the Steak line, that wouldnt have given it away.

Hmmm.

Something about the woman in a red dress from the training program, maybe. Actually, that would have made a pretty good clue; “hapless programmer passes up cybersex with woman in red dress”

Unfortunately, no.

#49 (added clue) Beverage entrepreneurs decline offer from Thuggish Cartel
#49 (added clue) Tires squeal on dirt roads as Mountain Boy evades law enforcement (and Thuggish Cartel)
#49 (added clue) Mountain Boy crushes Thuggish Cartel Boss’s hat and jumps from window into truckload of sand
#49 (added clue) Mountain Boy disapproves of Thuggish Cartel Boss’s efforts to recruit Mountain Boy’s brother (played by his son) into Thuggish Cartel

<< That’s pretty much the movie’s plot. More than that would be window dressing. >>

(Of course, if you can think of others, please join in the fun!)

I wanna play! Let’s try this long unaswered one:

WAG: Ghost Busters?

And one of my own:

67: Boy gets sick of beans, wants soup (and sausage)

As Good As It Gets?

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang?

Damn, these are hard.

#49 has already been expanded, so this is for additional clues to #22.

#22 (added clue) Bank owner sends man with woman’s name to find crop duster
#22 (added clue) Crop duster swaps dental records so sidekick gets the blame
#22 (added clue) Crop duster “boxes the compass” with bank owner’s secretary

No to both.

Additional clues:
#30 - Visitors may be illusory
#55 - Repeated wounds can be annoying

The annoying thing is, that with those clues these movies sound so familiar. I feel that I should know them, but they just won’t come to me.

Also, those clues independently very clearly point to a movie (i.e. “Lounge singer warbles about a whippoorwill”? Must be Trick), but together with the other completely baffles me.

If it helps, this is an old movie that you may easily have missed. It comes on cable only rarely. The main star is very well known, but the remaining cast, not so much. The lounge singer was fairly popular (as a singer) in the day, and performed with a Vegas big band with her husband. Not much acting experience.

The overblown names for people in the movie are more trick than anything, but if I had been much more descriptive, there wouldn’t have been much fun.

One final clue: Bruce Springsteen.

Elendil’s… looks like you missed it, but I posted a guess for #30 above.

That “boxes the compass” reference does suggest
The answer may be North by Northwest.

Too many associations for “crop duster” and North by Northwest, I suppose. Unfortunate. Think person and not plane. This person’s former occupation, before engaging in the more lucrative career path of bank robbery, was as a crop duster.

An awesome movie with some pretty big stars at the time. Directed by one of Eastwood’s mentors – big clue!

Incorrect.

I am Legend

Stand by Me?

Damn. See? It’s one of those ‘oh yeah’ moments, when, after you see the answer, you can’t imagine why you didn’t think of it yourself. I should’ve known that one.

Right you are!

I did actually think about the woman in the red dress. But, you phrased it a million times better than I could.

I knew that going for “Tastee Wheat” would probably be right out.

Same for eating said steak with a spoon.

I debated adding on “Mr.Regan likes to think, that when he doesn’t think about it, steak tastes pretty good.”

But I think we can all agree that The Matrix wasn’t going to last too long unanswered.

I’m gonna inject this one in here.

Fair Warning: It’s not a movie.

  1. (I Believe?) Hammurabi was actually a pretty good computer programer. In binary, at least.
