Undeniably completely wrong, but searching IMDB for crop duster comes up with episode 4 of Pushing Daisies, which sounds strikingly similar.
Okay, if you can’t get it from this list, it must mean you never saw the movie. More’s the pity. It’s worth getting an uncut version because places like AMC will butcher out the better parts. Flix or Encore or even Netflix would be a better try. I do recommend the movie (once you figure it out).
I’ll take a guess at Snow Crash.
Looking at that list it seems that *Charley Varrick *would come closest, which indeed I haven’t seen (and never even heard of). But to be honest, I think it’s quite an obscure film as well (it only has about 2800 votes).
The boxing the compass remark briefly made me think of License to Kill, where I thought that it may have been an eufemism for James screwing the girl, but the other hints didn’t make sense.
To avoid beating this horse any longer, it is indeed Charley Varrick.
Sorry to take the fun out of that one, but I had to know what it was. Still, I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed it.
Another one of mine:

Correct.
Crash
Nope. That would be too easy. One more clue:

Close enough. I’d have thought that Vanilla Sky would be more mainstream, but they are essentially the same film.
I was just about to say Crash.
No, not Crash 2004, Crash 1996. (Which I haven’t seen, but I know the plot.)
