One word clues

Sometimes, one word will evoke memories of a particular television program - whether the word is in dialogue (like “Turkeys” which evokes WKRP) and sometimes it’s not (Dick Van Dyke never (hardly ever?) said “Ottoman”). Here are some one word clues - which tv show am I thinking of for each one?

  1. Logical
  2. Vontz
  3. Scenario
  4. Nose
  5. Snowglobe
  6. Dolores
  7. Henna
  8. Legendary
  9. Bazinga
  10. Aristophanes

1)Star Trek:TOS
4)Welcome Back Kotter
5)St. Elsewhere
6)Seinfeld
8)How I Met Your Mother
9)Big Bang Theory

  1. I Love Lucy

For 4) I was thinking of “The Brady Bunch” but “Kotter” is clearly also correct. The rest, you have.

Yep.

  1. Mas*h

Correct.

Wouldn’t have got 2. Still don’t know 3 and 10.

#10 is one of my favorite episodes ever.

The Odd Couple, when Felix and Oscar appeared with Betty White and Allen Ludden on Password.

For those who don’t remember, when the word was BIRD, Felix gave the clue “Aristophanes,” because the Greek playwright Aristophanes once wrote a comedy called **The Birds.[/B

Oscar was furious, and roared “Aristophanes is ridiculous!!!”

Then, moments later, the word was RIDICULOUS, and Oscar gave the clue “Aristophanes!!!” Felix remembered what Oscar had said, and answered “Ridiculous.”

Good call astorian. I remember that episode but never would have recalled that detail.

Here are a few new ones:

  1. Dren
  2. Finkilium
  3. Newt
  4. Poloponies

1 is Happy Days.

Yes it is- when Joanie was in love with Potsy, and affectionately called him “dren” (the OPPOSITE of nerd, which is what everyone else called him).

I believe # 4 is from The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Ted Baxter misreading/mispronouncing “polo ponies”

Absolutely correct.

The Honeymooners

3 is Monty Python and the Holy Grail!

4 appears in a number of places; I can think of both The Honeymooners and The Flintstones (although the latter used it only in its singular form).

If this is limited to TV shows, #3 might be The Addams Family. (If movies are allowed, Aliens.)

Yes- from when Ralph and Alice were doing a play together.

My first thought was Aliens.
