One wring to Rule Them All: The wring appreciation thread!

Gads. I hit submit and didn’t mention mags?!?!

To to first person who called out to me directly on the board: thank you dear, for all you’ve been. Sorry you won’t be here this weekend, but as long as you’re doing the ‘remote grope’ for me, we’re cool!

Yes, I’m ressurecting this thread.

Why, you ask? Because I just spent a lovely afternoon with wring, learning how to rubber stamp. My car is broken, so she drove to my house and carted all her gear (well, she says it’s not all of her gear, but let me tell you, it was one hell of a lot of stuff). She taught me what inks work with what kinds of paper, how to emboss stuff, and she graciously allowed my four-year-old daughter to stamp like a fiend as well.

wring is a talented lady. Very creative. And her stamp collection is outstanding. And she’s really, really, REALLY nice besides. It’s not every day that one is lucky enough to say they know such a person.

Thanks a lot, wring. I had a great time, and I learned a lot of really cool stuff. I am now a rubber stamp junkie. Oh, and in case you’re looking for it, your heating tool is here. I’m not sure whether or not to mail it back to you, or hold it hostage so that you’ll come back.

and here I thought this was gonna be a thread about proper towelling technique.

Kudos, to the Punstress!

I thought this was gonna be a ‘Lord of the Ring’ thread.

[sub] I am such a geek[/sub]

I missed this thread, too.

I wanna rubber stamp things! I wanna rubber-stamp things! I wanna rubber stamp things!

Now that my tantrum is over, let me say wring is a mensch.

Cranky! well, dang, we’ll just have to include you on the next ‘wring teaches stamping’ session (to be held in Lansing btw) happy, I say, happy to oblige!

I have a ‘few’ rubber stamps (ok, so it’s like I have 2 rolling carts w/4 drawers each, plus another standing 3 drawer unit, plus a very large tackle box, plus assorted others in bags for traveling etc), and that’s just the stamps (another whole tackle box full of inks, embossing powders, brass charms, etc. plus bags of ribbons, assorted papers, hole punchers, shrink plastic, brayers with 3 different styles, 2 paper cutters, wallpaper books, fasteners, glues, paints, markers, crayons, coloring pencils, specialty inks etc.)

Yes, Persephone we had fun. FUN I tell you! and created wonderful things. I do however need to find the one that says “the lard speaks in mysterious ways”. classic.

(and it was a nice touch of her to insure that her little darlin’s were dressed, they behaved wonderfully for the stranger, and they don’t come much stranger)

(BTW Cajun, my SO is the true master of puns - we will go off on a pun fest in real life, real time and he is truly awe inspiring. We did one recently involving countries of the world, where he marshalled his command of geography with punning abilities - tho’ I did best him on the wicker one when I came up with “weave me alone”)

Well, I was going to show off my collection of 8 rubber stamps, but I’d feel silly now…

slinks off

Seriously though, sign me up and let me know when your Lansing do-wop is.

God, it’s great to be a Michigan Doper. We have the coolest people out with whom I so look forward to hanging.

I think Wring’s lovely. She’s so wise. Wise Wring.

Wring is one of those rare individuals whose mere endorsement lends credence to her chosen side of a debate, and gives me pause for thought, at the very least, on the rare occasions I happen to disagree.

Sheer class.

There are days that I want to be wring when I go up. Given that I am bothe grwon and male, this confuses me.

I don’t know how I missed this the first time, but I would humbly and happily submit should wring ever decide to rule the world.

Goodness gracious, did you construct that phrase by yourself? It’s lovely! If you get a few minutes, could you make one for me? I’ll trade you for some potholders!
