One wring to Rule Them All: The wring appreciation thread!

Consider this an anti-flame.

I posted this now as a pick-me-up because her kid is going in for surgery, but I’ve been intending to post this for about a week (I just held off on posting 'till now), in part because, dammit, she’s due an appreciation thread, I’m starting the wring appreciation thread.

I think wring is one of the classiest Dopers around. She’s friendly, caring, funny, helpful and articulate (even if she is wrong on the Gun issue :stuck_out_tongue: ). I really appreciate the fact that even when we disagree she’s able to try to understand and discuss the other person’s position, rather than resorting to ‘rabid dog’ tactics. She’s also possibly the only person I’ve ever met who can beat me at puns EVERY! SINGLE! time we compete.

I know it’s traditional to dig up a half dozen examples of the poster’s coolness, but with wring, just do a search on her name and look at just about any thread she’s involved in!

All-in-all a great person!

Chip in with your wring comments!

Fenris

For a person who is wrong most of the time, she is rather likeable.

You have an open invitation to go deer hunting with me any November, sugar.

Best wishes on your child’s surgery.

I’ve always thought wring was extremely hip. Then I found out she lives here in Michigan. Boy, did THAT ever make my day!

Best of luck to the wringlet, and I’ll see you this weekend, wring!

wring, I didn’t know about your son’s surgery. I hope it goes well, and I will be thinking of you.

I’m unfortunately unable to come to Michigan this weekend and keep you and Milo from grilling each other.

Hail wring, queen of puns, classy debates, and friendship! Someday we will rent a big house to share with Fenris and Sua.

Sorry to hear about your tax exemption’s upcoming surgery…hope all turns out for the best.

I’d add to the list of wring qualities…'cept she has cursed my wife to birth a sumo wrestler

wring already knows what I think of her, but I’ll let you all in on the secret: she really, really does care. She will go that extra step without prompting. She’s done it for me more than once.

And she is absolutely right in just about everything. Just about.

I also didn’t know about her son’s surgery. I hope it’s not too serious and all is well.

wring makes me feel smarter just reading her posts.

And she is always right.

wring could get blood out of a turnip, and make it most appetizing as well…

Wring debates well and never flames in GD. And she has excellent instincts about possible problems and always emails me about them so I can take care of it right away.

Hope the surgery goes well, wring!

Here’s hoping your little lad is all right.

Your compassion for my friend’s ordeal with his neices cemented my respect for you gal. You are one classy dame!

wring writes what I want to say–what Dangerosa said, she is always wright and never wrong. While I’m wrestling with words and wracking my brain, she’s already wreaking havoc with wry wit on the muddy-minded. To wrap it up, wring wrocks!

::ring-wring::

::wring-ring::

Ooops, you’d better answer that homophone, wring, I’m sure it’s for you (and the proper answer of course is “what hath wring wrought?”)

Hope everything goes well with the surgery.

I noticed a while back that I almost never posted in threads where wring had posted, or responded to wring’s posts in threads where I was active. I thought this looked like I was ignoring her, so I sent her an email letting her know that the reason is that she so often wrote what I wanted to say, and better than I could’ve said it, that there wasn’t any point to me just posting to write “me too”. She’s that good.

'Course, I’m biased. She owns me 2-3 days per week.

Sua

I think wring’s great.

I always breathe a huge sigh of relief when she enters a GD thread I’m part of, on my side. I know that she’ll pull together strands and arguments in a coherant and enlightened way. This board is much richer for having her.

Cheers wring

pan

And she has the nicest vowels.

wring, it’s always a pleasure to debate you.

Good luck to your child.

Hurray for wring! She is a class act, she looks good in a tiara, and she showed me a great thai restaurant here in Lansing. (Newbies to Bangkok House: order the mild first. The hot stuff is served by a paramedic on an asbestos tray).

[sub]Think that’s enough to get her to buy me a beer this Friday night?[/sub]

Gahhh… goldurned cheapo memory cells!! Best of luck to the wringlet in his surgery!

Hear, hear!

Indeed, I get to meet her for the SECOND time this weekend! (Aren’t y’all jealous!?)

I am honored, truly. People I respect say nice things about me??? in public??? AND not just folks that have the wisdom and foresight to agree with me? ( ) Wow.

Thanks for all the well wishes about my son. His surgery went better than expected (sinus surgery - he’d spent all year on antibiotics/steroids/inhalers/you name it and still had a racking cough). Doctor thought it looked great and he should be feeling pretty normal (or as close to normal for any relative of mine) w/in a day or two. His face isn’t even swollen, but with the assortment of drugs for the surgery, he’s pretty high. He’ll probably sleep until tomorrow :). I stopped in to email the relatives, check a few things and home to crash. I’m not sure if it’s the emotions of having ‘my baby’ have surgery or sitting with my exhusband for 6 hours, but I’m exhausted. (have to give the guy credit - he’s doing the right thing by Ben this time around)

anyhow.

Seriously, thanks to Fenris for thinking of me.
Milo: umm, thanks for the offer, but only if you’ll wear that dandy buck skin jacket I’ve heard so much about ( ) seriously, to you, UncleBeer and december it means a lot that even when we disagree, we can still respect each other.
SpiderWoman thanks so much, means a lot coming from one of the board’s most noted ‘nice folk’!
Persephone, UncleBeer, ralfcoder, BunnyGirl back atchya, and see ya this weekend!
**Biggirl, kabbes, Sua, Gaudere, Dangerosa, elelle, Humble Servant ** for those generally on the right side of the debate ( ), your support and comments are prized, indeed.
Zenster, beagledave - thanks, from me and the ‘little guy’ -who’s a bit over 6’1", weighs about 170 pounds, and started out in life, bd, a ‘mere’ 10 pounds, 12 ouches ( ), and was well worth the extra diaper costs!
