Online ballroom dance lessons?

Now first off I realize this can’t take the place of actual lessons, which I AM going to take. But when I’m feeling antsy in the house and wanting to do something productive with it movement-wise, I’d love to have something that I can watch and get something out of with regards to learning even basic ballroom stuff.

As we don’t have our wedding dance picked out, I have no idea what kind of dance we need to get good at, but I figure the more comfortable I am with the general movement style, the easier it will be.

Plus I can draft my 13 year old son into it (he specifically said he wants to “learn some waltzes” so he can dance at the wedding.)

So… any sites out there that are any good at this kind of thing, or am I wishful thinking?

I don’t suppose you would consider a DVD?

ooooh I will check that out, it looks goood!

I still want web stuff for instant gratification though, since I’m so incredibly patient…

Opal if you don’t mind, can we include Podcasts too? I was surprised that I couldn’t find any. Just about every other kind of podcast, but no dancing instructional one.

*watching this thread eagerly

sure! Anything that I can do at the drop of a hat when I’m in the mood would fit the bill

Have you checked youtube? A friend and I picked up Lindy pretty well from instructional youtube videos.

Are youtube videos long enough?

I ordered that one plus another one from Amazon.com. I’ll let you all know how it goes.
