ooooh, the new WEEZER Cd!!!

Cool, a new Weezer album. I will have to search it out, see if I like what i hear. I saw them live in DC at WUST, back when WUST was still WUST and not the new 9:30 club.

But, to go off topic. Cake has a new album coming out pezpunk? Cool! When is it due?

The two bands whose CDs I always buy the day they come out seem to be on the same schedule, their CDs come out right around the same time. Cake and G Love and Special Sauce. G Love’s new album is really good. Laid back, and fun. Go call your radio station and request Unified!

Nothing of great importance to add, except the fact that my Grandmother thought Butterfly was a religious song… and even after going through it numerous times, she still refuses to believe it’s not. Am I missing something, or is it time we put her in a nursing home?

REM, and Weezer?! It truly is going to be a wonderful trip to the music store. Looks like I had better start eating ramen noodles to afford them tho.

I didn’t like Pinkerton at first either, but I had to just force myself to listen to it all the way through as if it was the only Weezer I had heard. It is completely different than the first album, but after a few times I couldn’t get enough of it. And I must agree, el scorcho rocks. But not nearly as much as Only in Dreams. I think I could listen to that song every day for the rest of my life and never get sick of it.

I just have to add that every time I glance through MPSIMS I see this thread and think: “Swimming Riddles is interested in Geezers?”

Mmmmm…Geezers.

So I got the album at midnight, stood in line with a LOT of Tool fans. It was funny, there was this shaggy haired guy in an anarchy tshirt, and I’m pretty sure we were the only Weezer nuts. ::sigh::

It’s a great album…but it’s TWENTY EIGHT MINUTES LONG. Hi. That’ll take me part way to work. I suppose you could make an argument for 28 minutes of good music, but sheesh. I spend my $14, I want at least 45 minutes of amusement.

I like Simple Pages best.

Feel free to move this thread to IMHO, wise and noble mods.

Got it yesterday (Tool, too). What a great album. There’s a reviewer at Rolling Stone taking shot after shot of whiskey right now, in a losing effort to keep himself from putting the phrase “perfect pop confection” in the review.

I can’t pick a favorite yet, but I agree that “Simple Pages” is a great song. Shit, they all are.

The CD is only 28 min long? Jeese! I still have to get it. I’m a big Weezer fan, and damn, do I love that new single, Hash Pipe. Have any of you seen the video? I never watch MTV, but i was flipping through, and I saw sumo wrestlers and was like WTF? It was Hash Pipe! It’s great.

Unless you’re The Beatles, if your album is 28 minutes long, you go back into the studio and record some more frickin’ songs.

I love this CD, play it constantly. Well, not constantly. I just got their first album today with birthday dough, and I plan to play it quite a bit too.
So…should I get Pinkerton as well?
BTW, I wish I hadn’t gone and looked up the lyrics to “Hash Pipe,” but it’s still a great song.

My buddies and I are going to see Weezer in Chicago on Friday the 21! We all got glasses like Rivers Cuomo’s and we’re going to wear them to the concert. It’ll be great. We got horrible seats, though - nosebleed section. I’ll still be rocking out anyway.

(My brother and I play “Hash Pipe” together - he on his guitar and me on my violin.:))

Yes. right this minute. It’s a lot darker than the other two, and MUCH more personal. That freaks some people out, but I love it. And it has all these cool Mme. Butterfly referances in it. I’d LOVE to get into Rivers’ head for a day. Dude is BRILLIANT. But wierd. Reminds me of Brian Wilson, before they over medicated him.

Anyhoo, the answer is a big Yeah from Swiddles.
