Maybe IRL Jeannie is a shy, quiet, but intelligent and well-spoken woman. I seen the interior of Opal’s house (thank you, OpalCam) and Jeannie’s criticism is nothing. With two toddlers running around like that? Housecleaning takes a low rung on the priority ladder.
All I want to do is settle this face-to-face. Is Jeannie as intelligent as she says she is? Do her criticisms of OpalCat stand up to actual interaction with her? I’m just doing this in the spirit of research and understanding that fuels the Straight Dope and has for almost thirty years…

Um, actually, that counts for nothing. I come from a scientific family. My mother is a doctor and my father is an engineer, and they both discuss their work a lot. Nevertheless, I can still point out quite a few people who know more biology and physics than I do.
Besides, how do you know how much anyone else here knows about the situation? Oh, that’s right. You don’t. Do you want me to fill in that hole before you dig it any deeper?

This has got to be the dumbest statement I’ve read in weeks-- and that’s saying a lot.
Jeanie, why bother insulting people you don’t know? Why risk making (more of) a fool of yourself by professing your superiority without a single shred of evidence? For all you know, you could be addressing a native Kosovar, or a U.N. diplomat, or a high-ranking Air Force officer. I sincerely doubt that you could talk about the Kosovo crisis on an equal level with one of these persons; I defy you to show one tenth the knowledge that such a conversation would require.
In fact, pick a topic in which you’re expert, and let’s set up a debate. You vs. a chosen champion from the rest of the board. I almost guarantee you’ll get your metaphorical ass kicked in.
Incidentally, will the moderators take votes on whether to ban this bitch? If she discovers how to post in the other forums, she might eventually become annoying.

I have conducted a study of subject “Jeanie” and declare her, as a troll, quite ordinary and one whose condition is only fair. Even a collector would probably not be interested in her as most collectors already have one just like it. Market value $1.00 US.
By the way, I used to know a Jeanie who lives (or lived) in Arlington, though I like to not believe the universe to be quite that strange. Nor do I believe that “my” Jeanie has disintegrated that much (she was a little nutty).

But just think how much fun this could be. You can test the troll-puller, extracting only jeanie’s posts, leaving as her only legacies the disdainful replies and the knowledge that the troll-puller actually works.

But just about the time they announced that the AOL SDMB would be shut down, AOL recovered all the posts to the “push pin” MB that they lost in September (going back to Toodabar’s “why do cat’s…?” post).
Some folks have been surfing back and reminiscing about old wars.
There have been Shawn sightings on a.f.c-a, but he hasn’t been visible on SDMB since the end of the “So What?” dispute.
Speaking of surfing back: were there any old posts you’d have liked to have saved? The SDMB hasn’t disappeared yet. If you have a name and a date range, somebody could probably get you a copy, at least as a text file. Using the “From. . .To. . .” date range, we can now bring up any series of posts, just they way they originally appeared.

Oh, I’ve already tried out the troll-puller, before the board was open to the public. However, for now, I’m going to leave Jeanie’s posts, because everyone’s having so much fun (except, possibly, Jeanie) and because each of her posts simply scream out her cluelessness. Besides, this IS the Barbecue Pit.

I just wonder if some persons aren’t confusing aesthetics with sexiness… 'Tis certainly true that a good-looking body is pleasing to the eyes and the sense of art and aesthetics (I prefer looking at female examples thereof, with curves, but of course the same would apply to those who prefer looking at males, with muscles.)
On the other hand, that has nothing to do with personality, of course.
And sexiness… well, frankly, no one is anywhere near as sexy to me as my spouse who (yes!) shops at Lane Bryant.
