Opening Day in the MMP!!!

Back from errands. The world is too bright. 'Beamer stayed up very late watching movies with his dad and sister, so he is now taking a nap (somewhere we just ticked closer to the apocalypse).

I’m going to take some anti-nausea meds and hope that the effects of going out and about subside in a bit.

Today I went to a shopping mall and there were 100 guitarists there, all playing electric guitar. A newly-written piece inspired by Jimi Hendrix. Very cool

{{{2gig}}}

That sounds like a cool show, emily.

I heathenated today, then went to Hogwarts with them. Right now I’m fixing supper: sweet N.O.T. noodles with chicken, broccoli and Thai peanut sauce, fresh asparagus and quinoa with spinach and mushrooms. I’s hongry!

Dindin has been ingested. ‘Twas good and the little hunk o’ beast got all et up which is good cause this bein’ Holy Week means no red meat for the week. I do try to do some things right after all. I shall host an Easter N.O.L. next Sunday. Ham will be the star with other sides. Some folks are bringin’ sides, I’ll make some and dessert shall be OYKW’s Noo Yawk style cheesecake with strawberries and real whipped cream. A feast for sure.

For now however, the kitchen is cleanded up and the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Chillage ensues.

What does this mean? I thought on Sunday you went to church to DE-heathenate. Does it mean you didn’t go to church? Were extra bad?
Morning got screwed up but still ran LSD, though slower than I wanted.

Red, if I remember correctly, participates in a non-denominational celebration, which she affectionately refers to as “heathen.”

Your turn Spidey. How does one run LSD? I would think that would be disorientating?

Hubby and 'Beamer are going to go see “Skull Island” movie. Try as I might, I cannot find the least urge to see it. I have requested popcorn, however.

We shall retire unto the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time. Thus endeth Sunday.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I think he was talking about politicians.

Actually I have no idea, it’s been 50+ years since I read that stuff, and I wasn’t all that impressed with his ideas even then, but politicians sounds right.

Spent the day cleaning up the yard after the big wind storm. We have two big fir trees in our back yard, one in each corner, and the yard was full of branches and seed cones. Then I had to clean all that crap out of the hot tub. We got a new foam cover last year that came with a different type of snap downs on each corner. I replaced the snaps on the two corners to windward, (storms almost always come out of the south around here and the house is north of the tub anyway) but for some reason I didn’t replace the two on the north side. I have no idea why not. Anyway, the wind somehow swirled around and blew the north side of the cover open and the tub was full of fir needles and branches and seed cones too.

Wifey is cooking sirloins and baked potatoes with caprese on the side. I’m getting hongry!

Even among opponents rugby builds bonds that last forever. Other than the odd old-boys game here and there my last real season on the club level was 83 and the last year of so I was mostly B Squad. One of our trips to Indiana a couple years back I went though the same kind of thing – this guy giving me an odd look for way too long. I was just starting to think maybe Swampykins had snuck north when he approached me and and asked if I had ever played rugby. Yeah – Pittsburgh RFC. He turns and loudly yells out “Hey guys! Come meet one of the toughest hookers I ever tried to kill!!!” He probably should have worded it different. Everyone else on the street started making this odd detour around us.
Smoked about 6 pounds of pork. I usually like to do a bit more when building the fire but it came out so good I don’t care. And it leaves us a lot of leftovers to play with this week.

But if Swampy’s DEheathenating at church, wouldn’t heathenating be the opposite?
Irregardless (See what I did there?), Long Slooooow Distance

spidey, **sunny **was close. One of several secular humanist groups that I belong to holds a monthly service. We sing pop songs (this being Nashville, we have a number of session musicians along with some talented amateurs), have a speaker of the day and socialize, including a meal in one of the campus dining halls (we meet on Vanderbilt University’s campus) that has much better food than I remember college having, but is in a stone, gothic style building with dark wood that we’ve affectionately nicknamed Hogwarts. :stuck_out_tongue: We refer to ourselves as the heathens and some of our meet ups are actually titled things like Bowling with the Heathens, Karaoke with the Heathens and Crafting with the Heathens. We simply reclaimed the term that a lot of locals here at the buckle of the bible belt use for us.

I’ll get one more post in before the end of Sunday. Refereed another soccer game today, so I treated myself to a chocolate ice cream cone…a BIG one. So not much need for dinner. Then watched the end of The Masters (only Golf tournament I make an effort to watch each year) and was glad Sergio won it.

Mad at Logan’s Roadhouse, they have re-done their menu and removed the Meatloaf dinner from it. I was rather fond of that meal, now I’ll have to find another place that serves meatloaf like Mama used to make.

ruble, being in pretty constant pain ain’t pretty. Hope it gets better soon.

Bumba, I notice that you are beginning to sound more and more like swampy. You must live in South Israel…

Midget, would love to have heard all those guitars.

Off to bed now, see all y’all on the next edition of the MMP.

Haven’t posted in a bit, we’ve just been real busy with Passover and stuff. Got all the leavened stuff (yes, the scotch too) put away . . . floors pretty much all cleaned . . . all we need to do is set up for the seder tonight. My oldest surprised us and came home last night instead of today. It spit a few drops of rain this morning, and I think rain is called for on Thursday - and that may be it for the sky water until the fall.

For those that celebrate, have a wonderful Passover or Easter, and if not - have a great week!
