I saw one of those disgusting crime shows on the tube once, and they were showing this dead woman who had been horribly mutilated. Face slashed, intestines hanging out, throat cut, etc. She was nude. All in living color.
And they had blurred her NIPPLES out.
I found this to be too ridiculous for words.
Well you know, that is an excellent point and not one that I had really considered at all so I thank you.
We had sat there trying to conjure up the meeting where they decided on how their billboard would look: “Yep, looks good, looks good, you can really see the organs … wait - what’s this? Hey we need to put a black bar over that - that’s disgusting, we’re not pornographers” etc.
However it’s still hard for me to understand why they would be so painstakingly sensitive and considerate over one little thing and so blatantly rotten-dot-com-esque over something so obviously larger, or worse, or what have you.
Hmmm (scratches head). Ultimately I suppose I don’t. It is my subjective interpretation of the image and the placement and angle of the bar etc… Fair’s fair, so replace the word “penis” with “genitalia” if you like. It doesn’t change the general concept.
Update: I have not seen the truck since I got that good look at it Wednesday afternoon. Probably there were complaints which prompted police involvement, or maybe they had to return the truck from where they rented it.
It’s a good thing too. We had been speaking elliptically about tire traps, and 1990’s-style “Rodney King ass-beatings”.
Dammit… how can I insert a 1920’s style death ray joke here before anyone else? 
I think anyone who is having an abortion has already seen a penis.
I remember the 60 Minute segment on Operation Rescue. One woman who got hate mail from the group had abortioned a dead fetus after her doctor told her carrying it to term could have made her infertile. The head of OR said that wasn’t a valid reason, and the woman should have prayed and put it in God’s hands.
