I just watched episodes 1 through 5. For those concerned about the nudity, there isn’t much after the first episode. And what sex there is is implied and not explicit.

I like it so far.

Found this old thread and being a Netflix original, its kind of hard to manage the commentaries. I haven’t read past the first 15 or so posts. Anyway…

I’m about 5 eps in so far also. I thought the first one was excellent (not just the t and a) but IMHO it’s gone downhill from there.

I thought the big reveal at the end of ep 1 had alot of potential but they haven’t moved that along much since.

When in ep2 they started with Red’s backstory I also had hopes. It would have been nice for them to complete it and do another character’s full backstory each ep but they aren’t.

I’ll prob keep watching anyway since my wife likes it alot.

Piper doesn’t “own” anything. This is her problem. She is a stupid, whiny, stupid, self-absorbed, stupid child. The main problem with the show is not having any sympathy whatsoever to the main character.

She deserves to be shivved. It would do her good.

Pennsatucky’s problem is age old. Never believe your own propaganda. That and wanting to kill anyone who disrespects her, but nobody’s perfect.

Mendez is playing all of them. He knows about Bennett and Daya and is acting the fool on purpose. When she has the baby, he’s going to lay claim to it for blackmail purposes knowing that they won’t risk a DNA test. They addressed it on the show but Daya didn’t carry it to the next step. A DNA test will prove Mendez is not the father but the prison won’t just shrug and let it go–especially not with the extra scrutiny they are under due to Larry’s story–they’ll get DNA samples from all the male guards. Bennett needs to be looking for a new job.

At first, I dismissed this theory when I read it the other day, but now I think the idea has merit. Remember when Pornstash showed up to “pick up his paycheck” and spoke to Bennett about delivering his message to Daya? When they were done talking, Bennett asked him, “what about your paycheck?” and he just walked off. The dude is up to something.

OK who didn’t get teary when the Silent Bob woman sang at the Christmas show? That whole scene was great, and I don’t think I really disliked Piper until they showed her all pissed off and self-absorbed during the pageant.
