Rich promises it won’t take 10 more years to finish the story. He says maybe 4.
Good god…10 years?
That means this comic has been a part of my life for almost 1/4 of my life! I have relatives who haven’t been a part of my life for that long.
I doubt it’ll be finished in 4 years. There’s 2 books left and the current one has taken 3 years. Probably about 5 or 6 years, then.
I’m OK with 10 more years.
4 years, this thread was started the same time as this book, in August 2009.
Me, too! As much as I’m dying to know where the story is going and looking forward to resolving each plot point, it’s going to be a sad day when it’s all over. Luckily, we clearly have plenty of time to go, huzzah!
Actually, I was wondering about that. Isn’t the Oracle linked to Tiamat? I’m not clear on how the whole Oracle thing goes but surely the Oracle could potentially have seen how that whole thing would turn out and how badly it would affect Tiamet herself (itself?).
Do kobolds in general have any link to Tiamat these days? I only remember them as the half-hit-die reptilian dog-men and don’t recall any draconic link or origin.
Which isn’t to say that the Oracle can’t be linked (since he is) to Tiamat, just wondering about your rank & file kobolds.
They became distantly related to dragons with 3rd Edition.
Well, the Oracle does pray to Tiamat to get his divinations, so he at least worships her. Whether there’s a distant family relationship is somewhat moot at that point.
Kobolds insist that they’re related to dragons; all the other dragons insist that they’re not.
Nice to see our favorite sexy, shoeless god of war back in his element!
That…was a wholly unexpected Crowning Moment of Awesome.
Heh, turns out those ranger class features are good for more than just wandering around the wilderness - they’re good for a huge amount of ass-kickery as well.
I’m starting to suspect Burlew is planning to kill Belkar in the next few strips. I mean, talk about going out in a blaze of glory.
That was my immediate thought. “That’s it for Belkar.”
Hi! Peanut Gallery checking in again!
What’s the greyed out panel symbolise? (The one where someone is picking a locked cage containing the T-rex.)
I know Belkar had to make use of a Ranger class skill to “control” the T-rex, but I don’t quite get that locked cage equals die roll…
They grayed-out panel is a flashback to when Belkar and Roy were incarcerated as gladiators, when Belkar befriended the T-rex (by letting it out to rampage).
Flashback. Belkar encountered and freed the T-Rex when they were in Tarquin’s dungeon.
