Order of the Stick - Book 5 Discussion Thread

I had noticed the thing about the first wife, actually, and just hadn’t gotten around to point it out.

In the first secret origins strip, he does too.

New one up.

And Tarquin knows just what it takes to get Elan to forget all those pesky moral dilemmas.

I realy want to call that that’s not Elan’s father, rather it’s Nale in disguise. But I can’t get around the fact that Nale would never play as “Elanish” as Tarquin seems to be.

I call dibs on the next raptor ride! happy dance

He definitely has plenty of Nale and Elan in him.

I don’t think Nale has the ability to make a self-deprecating joke, even as a means of staying in character

PZ likes it! He really likes it!

And you’ve got to admit, Haley does have some nice… eyes.

Mammals Can’t Seem to Get Enough of Those Things.

Mammals Rule!

What?

Why are y’all looking at me that way?

<cue crickets>

Well, they do.

And suddenly I got what the title was talking about.

New strip

Holy STRUDEL

Tarquin has snatched the title away from Henry VIII…!

I can’t help but wonder, how come he can still find willing wives? O.o

Who said Willing?

Anyhow, Tarquin’s evil roots are showing. “Mysterious Circumstances” indeed.

Not only that, but the waffling on whether or not he knows Girard shows he’s not a Good Guy. Of course, neither are half of our heroes.

What’s that saying? “Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac”?

shows he (Tarquin) is not a good guy, or he (Girard)?

Tarquin. We already know that Girard isn’t all that nice.

At this point, I think it’s become pretty likely that Tarquin’s working on some plan and not just reacting to events. I’m assuming he knew about the Order all along and used the bounty on Nale (with its ambiguous language) as a means of capturing Elan.
