Order of the Stick - Book 5 Discussion Thread

“…everyone here could use a little less loin and a lot more cloth.”

Nice dig at the Worf Effect in the penultimate panel…

Worf effect? It’s been done in film long before. Spartacus, anyone? And historically, of course, handsome gladiators were well in demand as studs.

The Worf Effect.

(I think he meant the last panel).

So, are we being primed for Belkar’s death - and resurrection - or is this a false alarm?

New strip

This has to mean something…

It’s funny; it’s been probably a year since I’ve participated on the GitP forums, and I still catch myself thinking in terms of the “Number of Character Appearances” thread over there. Like, “Ooh, we have names for the two idols now! And another named character with a single appearance, Hel!”.

Truly. What’s His Boniness up to? I thought he had a pretty good idea where the gate is.

Looking for his soul-keeper thingy.

Isn’t that in a sewer, being looked for by minions? My poor adled brain can’t keep all the details in these l-o-o-n-g tales.

Or looking for his keys. But we’ve already established that the Oracle has a dislike for dead mammals.

This strip appears to have answered the question about Xykon’s “errand” that was raised back in 704.

Our bounty hunters now have names, so are likely to survive:p
Otherwise, a pretty dull strip.

Yeah, I want to see Belkar go berserk on someone’s ass.

Or cook something.

They’ve had names from the start.

Ganji named
Enor named

I agree, though, that they are looking like becoming major characters. I predict a team up with the Order, where they are offered a sizable bounty if they help save the World.

I doubt they’re major characters. If they’re lucky they might survive as recurring characters.

Personally, I’m kind of expecting a Mal/Jayne moment, where Roy asks how much yummies Enor gets from Ganji, and points out that he’s just as vulnerable without his own magic items.

Ah, yes, Belkar’s other skill. I wonder if he’ll make fast friends with Enor just because the latter likes his yummies.

My brother predicts that Enor will be the tough guy knocked out in the first round.
